How to Dive into Modern?

Should this be in Modern section? I'm providing a decklist, so I'm not sure.
I've been thinking about diving headfirst into modern with this deck:
34x Mountain
9x Island
It's 20$ on SCG, and I'm not willing to spend more than that right now, so that's what I have planned.

Yeah, I know 4 towers is good, but I was on that budget, so I'll probably go the storm route by replacing the seismics with storms, so I can play 4 towers.

Nay, 4 Reliquary Towers is BAD. You can maybe run 2. You just have to get 3 red producing lands out to play Seismic Assault on T3. Lightning Storm is bad. It is too late game. I think maybe some of you guys are confused on how to play this? Check out the new play guide in my deck desc.
But here's this (it's a little different than the Zombie Infestation version):
T1: land
T2: land
T3: land + Seismic Assault
T4: Treasure Hunt, then, if you hit another Hunt with this, stick a land down and Treasure Hunt again.

T1 land and then T2 Reliquary Tower and Treasure Hunt does work, just less well. Sure, you might find your Seismic Assault and you can get tons of lands, but once your opponent sees the number of lands in your hand they will want to counter your Seismic Assault way more and then you are dead. Does that make sense?
Also, if you can afford the extra $4 do Swans of Bryn Argoll instead of Treasure Hunt. It is better. Good luck! And thanks for considering my deck :)

Actually sorry I am stupid. The Swans combo is yes better, but you need that 2 U mana by T4. So that makes lands more expensive a lot. Sorry. Unless you already have the UR lands... :/

Lightning Storm isn't bad, you win on turn 3-4 fairly consistently with it. Also you need 4x Reliquary Tower if you are doing the Lightning Storm route, since you need to hold 10 or more lands in your hand after casting a Treasure Hunt.
Another good thing about it is that you can do it in response to them doing something. They will want to play their cards, and you can Lightning Storm in response.
Anyways, an ideal hand with Lightning Storm goes like:
T1: Dual land
T2: Reliquary Tower, Treasure Hunt
T3: Mountain, Lightning Storm
Also you can easily get turn 4 plays through:
T1: Land
T2: Land
T3: Treasure Hunt, Reliquary Tower (if you are running 4 and only two Lightning Storms, you will hit one)
T4: Land, Lightning Storm
The turn 4 play also works if you have all basics in your deck.

I see, that is good. But with Seismic Assault it isn't. I guess it's just a different deck concept. So there's the Seismic Assault version, and then the Lightning Storm version. Cool. I think the Storm one is much less consistent though, since you have to get the Tower and the Hunt and then hit the Storm, which you might not even do, unless you want to wait till T5 to cast Hunt and Storm. Whereas is the Seismic version, you just need Treasure Hunt and Seismic Assault.

So here's what I'm probably going to do. It's either gonna be Storm or Assault, both seem good but not sure.
4 Treasure Hunt
2 Assault/Storm (only 2 because if I hunt into a hunt eventually I'll find an Assault/Storm)
2 Reliquary Tower
4 Izzet Guildgates
4 Swiftwater Cliffs
2 Shivan Reef
33 Mountain
9 Island

Also, check out my friend Programmer_112's deck, The reason I have no friends($10Blue Controllolol). It's pretty fun, and really cheap.

You typically would want four Reliquary Towers in the deck because they are so relevant.
Maybe consider doing the 52 land variety that runs only Treasure Hunt and either Lightning Storm or Zombie Infestation. They are cheaper and allow you to get those extra Reliquary Towers.
