Help with possible fake / counterfeit cards

I recently recieved 4x Collected Company from an online trade (not on tappedout) and the cards didn't 'seem right' to me. I have since brought them to my local game store and their opinion was inconclusive except, if they were fake they were damn good ones. What initially caught my eye was the paintbrush symbol next to the artist name was missing the top white line of the brush. This can be easily seen under magnification (35x).
Collected Company 1
Collected Company 2
Collected Company 3
Avatar of the Resolute Personally opened
Is this a common print defect, possibly from the modern event deck? Or are these likly fake cards? Has anyone else seen this defect on the artist paintbrush?

I have not opened any of the event decks that contained the reprinted Collected Company. I was hoping someone could confirm they have a similar defect.

I would be more concerned with all the bleeding in around the numbers than the paintbrush. Notice how your Avatar of the Resolute has crisp edges and not a single character from the CoCos is without bleeding. I wouldn't buy these off you personally.

I get your curiosity, but if the quality of the forgery is such that it won't be questioned, id's say don't even waist your time thinking about it.
topical: this morning i came across some dickhead trying to sell a "complete set of the power 9" for $400.00 locally online.
Ugh....

If you look at most images of Collected Company (Including the one on the site), the brush is weird.
And more. A quick Google search could probably tell you more.

So, I wanted to close the loop on this thread.
I looked through my binder of cards of khans through dragons of tarkir and found several cards showing 'bleeding' of the text and the paintbrush. See pics of the best example Despise below.
The rosette pattern and the bleeding compares with the Collected Companys. At the moment I am content to call the cards legit and the print quality of the runs poor, most likely the cards were taken from the clash pack.
Feel free to continue to post if anyone has further interest in this topic.

Use the flashlight on your phone to check for like a blue tinted swirling on the inside of the card. It's the rip test without ripping your card. That's my number one way to spot a fake. Look at what a real card from the same set is meant to look like, and check to see if the patterns are similar.
I have no faith that these would be fake cards though. It's like counterfeiting a one dollar bill, why bother? If that brush is the only problem, I wouldn't be too concerned.
