Help me finish my list of 2-card infinite combos!

General forum

Posted on Feb. 27, 2018, 9:39 a.m. by MagicalHacker

I'm nearing completion on my list of 2-card infinite combos, and would love you to help me find those last few combos out there that fit into one of the categories mentioned in the list: MagicalHacker - List of All 2-Card Infinite Combos

EDIT: I believe that the list is totally complete at this point, as I have been struggling to find even another combo at this point. That said, I would love it if you could prove me wrong! (And yes, I will admit my mistake and thank you for helping me out lol)

Panoptic Mirror + Any take extra turn.

Flooremoji, I do already have that combo, but thanks anyways!

Aether Flash and Polyraptor

Jeyce says... #5

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Triskelion do not go infinite since Triskelion also has base +1/+1 stopping it from dying when the counters are removed unless you deal all the damage to itself thus being unable to actually damage the opponent.

Same thing with Goblin Sharpshooter and Splinter Twin since the copy is always killing itself to untap the original and the original is always tapping to create the copy.

Flooremoji says... #6

Triskelion is suppose to kill itself after dealing some of the damage to another target. you use it's counter to kill itself.

February 28, 2018 5:22 p.m.

Jeyce says... #7

Ahh yeah I thought it was persist. But for Sharpshooter it still is valid.

February 28, 2018 8:33 p.m.

Ezuri, Claw of Progress + Sage of Hours = infinite turns if you have 5 or more exp counters

I've done Illusionist's Bracers + Tidewater Minion more than the people on the receiving end care to admit they don't know what Tidewater Minion even was. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

DracoDarkstorm, unfortunately, AEther Flash and Polyraptor can not be ended without a third piece, so they actually are just part of a 3-card infinite combo rather than form a 2-card combo by themselves. Thanks though!

Jeyce, with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed on the battlefield, Triskelion will enter as a 5/5. If you remove a counter to hit an opponent, it will be a 4/4. Remove two more to hit itself, and it will die from being a 2/2 that was dealt two damage, then undying will trigger to return to the battlefield.

As for Goblin Sharpshooter and Splinter Twin, the catalyst for the combo is either a creature dying while the enchanted Sharpshooter is untapped or any creature with 1 toughness (or 1 damage away from dying). In both of those cases, the enchanted Sharpshooter can be tapped to create a token copy with haste, and then (if necessary) the token tapped to kill that creature. One the untap trigger(s) resolve, you will have an enchanted Sharpshooter and a token copy. From that point, you can tap the enchanted Sharpshooter for a token copy, tap one of the copies to damage an opponent, then tap the other copy to kill one of the token copies in order to untap the two Sharpshooters in order to repeat until death rains upon all opponents. This is very unintuitive when looking at the pieces, so I've added it to the description of that combo.

Funkydiscogod, fantastic catch on the combos with The Locust God and effects that trigger a draw when an insect enters! Thanks, they've been added.

I've added Keening Stone to the Fraying Sanity combos, thank you so much!

That Chandra combo though... that's definitely a 9-card combo lol

VraskaTheCursed, Sage of Hours cannot keep any counters on it if it activates.

Jeyce, I've added Benthicore to the Splinter Twin combos and Bounding Krasis, Breaching Hippocamp, Great Oak Guardian, and Sparring Mummy to the Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker/Splinter Twin combos. Thank you so much!

I do have those combos for unhasty creatures already, but thanks anyways!

Dorotheus, yes, I am glad however that Minion is unique in its ability to combo with the Bracers though!

Rooftop Storm + Gravecrawler If you want infinite sacrifice fodder.

IronTiger says... #13

I like what you're doing here. But I have a picky detail to point out. Yes, Tidewater Minion goes infinite with Illusionists Bracers. BUT it is an ineffectual without a third piece (permanent that taps for mana for infinite mana, Prodigal Sorcerer for the win, etc.) Small detail, I realize, and the 'combo' is technically infinite without it.

On that note, Minion is not the only combo like that with Bracers

Aphetto Alchemist works similarly, but he only targets creatures and artifacts, so you'll need a Tim or Rock to make anything cool happen.

Cheers

RoarMaster says... #14

IronTiger I think it is pretty safe to assume that you will at least have 1 land in play to untap with the Tidewater Minion as well as itself. Thus giving you infinite mana :)

March 2, 2018 1:54 a.m.

MagicalHacker says... #15

IronTiger, I only have the Tidewater combo under infinite mana because, as RoarMaster said, it's pretty much a given that you will have at least one land out. Some of these combos rely on you having a board state or some number of specific cards in the deck, but I only include ones where those limitations don't push it into the realm of a 3-card combo. In this situation, having a land is so natural that it doesn't count as a third card, whereas having a Tim or Rock isn't as guaranteed to be true.

MagicalHacker says... #16

Those first three are already included on the hyperlinked list in the post and that last one is part of a three card combo, but thanks anyways!

March 2, 2018 10:26 a.m.

@MagicalHacker if you move to combat with 5 exp counters, ezuri, and sage of hours, put 5 counters on sage of hours, then remove them, you get another turn. Dont attack with sage. Repeat with your extra turn for infinite turns.

i love that almost everyone here are just posting combos that are already in your list. I especially love people stating some of the most well-known, over-used combos in the history of magic as if no one has heard of them before.

Jeyce's expertise on this subject is my favorite of them all. Thanks, man.

I saw a bunch of Emrakul extra turns through bounce, but not Crystal Shard or Erratic Portal.

March 3, 2018 11:02 p.m.

MagicalHacker says... #20

VraskaTheCursed doh! I had a brainfart and thought you wrote "Vorel" instead of "Ezuri". Sorry about that!

Dreno33, I know what you mean, but I'm not that upset about those. I would actually rather have lots of suggestions for combos that you can find on the list itself rather than miss out on some cool combos or redundant pieces for them. I do have to say that Jeyce has helped me get some pieces I overlooked for a few combos, and to be honest, I appreciate almost everyone's contributions to it!

RoarMaster, ah, that's a bummer, cause I do already have those. To be fair, a lot of these combos have so much redundancy that it's hard to check if specific pieces have been used already. Thanks though!

Felidar Guardian + Flameshadow Conjuring works so long as you have a Mountain. The non-token bounces the mountain and the token bounces the Guardian. Infinite hasty-creatures + Infinite Landfall.

Sands of Time + Strionic Resonator gives you infinite mana, but only on your upkeep phase.

Infinite Reflection and Myr Battlesphere infinite Myr right?

March 8, 2018 11:16 p.m.

MagicalHacker says... #26

StopShot, woah, both of those are sick combos! I haven't seen either one of those (or replacing Flameshadow Conjuring with Dual Nature either for nonhasty tokens either!) Thanks a ton!

Nillstan, thanks, but I already have that one.

Funkydiscogod, great find, I'll add that to the 1-card combo section. Thank you!

METAL_GUY, unfortunately, a third piece is needed in order to stop the combo, otherwise you enter into an unstoppable loop that makes the game end in a draw. That said, there are some combos that would work the way you want if you replace Myr Battlesphere with Gwyllion Hedge-Mage, Turntimber Ranger, or Wirewood Hivemaster. Thank you for your help in this!

Spike Feeder + Sunbond works for infinite life gain.

March 19, 2018 7:13 p.m.

MagicalHacker says... #28

StopShot, thanks, I forgot to put that on infinite lifegain even though I put it on infinite power. Thanks for catching that!

htfilm says... #29

For infinite mana, do you have Basalt Monolith/Grim Monolith+Power Artifact?

On another note, Wow! This is really impressive. I can't even begin to imagine the hours of work you put in on this.

htfilm yep! Thanks for the kind words, a lot of time did go into this, but my goal is to help as many as I can :D

Sorry I didnt see it. Must be blind!

MagicalHacker says... #34

No worries, friend! I have made mistakes A LOT with this project, so it keeps me on my toes to doublecheck that I have added something I remember adding (in case I accidentally deleted it or something...). That combo can be found under "Infinite Damage".

Feel free to post more if you think of any!

Natalbee says... #35

Not sure if this counts, but Evolution Vat and Crystalline Crawler get you infinite mana of any color (if the 'Crawler has 7 counters on it). Technically a colorless combo, but needs to be in at least a Simic deck for EDH.

March 25, 2018 3:52 p.m.

MagicalHacker says... #36

Natalbee, it definitely counts! Thank you, I've added it to the to list! Also, the color identity is what I've been using to organize the list :)

March 25, 2018 11:48 p.m.

Natalbee says... #37

Woo, I see it on there! That's awesome haha, I'll let you know if I can think of any more. I think there's one or two I don't see listed...

Boros Reckoner/Spitemare + Rush of Vitality

Before the Reckoner or Spitemare takes damage from blocking a creature or a spell that would deal damage to them cast Rush of Vitality on your creature. You can then choose the Reckoner or Spitemare to loop damage onto itself an infinite number of times because Indestructible keeps it from dying and lifelink allows you to gain life through each loop.

Natalbee, perfect!

StopShot, looks good, I've added it. Ready / Willing also functions in the combo too. Thanks so much!
