What stuff do you ALWAYS take with you to a FNM? I broke a sleeve once at FNM and had one spare. I now always have spare sleeves for what I'm using. Also, dice, bag, drink, binder, notebook.

I bring the same stuff, except the drink. My game shop is connected to a cafe run by the same owner, so drinks/snacks are always available.

Good binder (for people that I know and people that I seriously want things from), bad binder (for people I don't know and kids), Standard deck for the night, 3 modern decks and 2 edh decks for funzies, notepad, pens aplenty, water bottle, Altoids tin full of dice, SCG Panda Playmat. For limited nights, replace the standard deck with my box-o-limited, which is a Dragonshield box with 60 sleeves and my basic lands in it.

My store has a box of sleeves that were left on the ground after events, and it's quite full, so you're usually able to find a matching sleeve in there if you need a replacement.

I carry all of my stuff in a computer/messenger bag, and bring two fat pack boxes. One with two standard decks and dice in it, the other has 4-5 unsleeved casual decks I use to play with my friends between rounds. Then I have a small makeshift binder with a few trade items, my erebos playmat and a water bottle.

Out of Curiosity , those that take notes on matches, how do you go about doing it? Shorthand?

I take whichever deck is the format I'm playing in, Modern or Legacy, another format deck for funsies, dice, cash, drink, and leave my trade binder secured in my car. Most people at my LGS are cool, but there are a few random thieves that have made off with binders or cards from.

When I note down a match, I basically just write down how the games went, and a brief overview of how that game went. "Round 3: 2-1: RDW::::::::: G1: Me, He didn't get started until turn 3, I had the bigger board. G2: I got land screwed, he played as he wanted to. G3: Close match, but I topdecked an Archangel of Thune right when I needed to and pulled it out".

Basically it just makes me more aware of my good and mad matchups, and helps me make decisions in later games.
