Do you like to listen to music while you play?

When I have friends over to my place for Magic I play music softly on my iPhone.
Depending on who I have over it is usually a musical soundtrack or some vintage rock.
I often play music when I'm play testing on my own at home.
How about you? What tunes do you listen to?

Not usually when I play. When I'm testing, though, I'm blasting metal.

I always listen to music while playing magic, the only time I don't is during tournaments. But hanging with friends playing EDH or cubing (the majority of magic i play is this) we are always playing music. Pretty loudly too, at that. Normally it is acoustic covers of popular songs as me and my best friend are into those, or sometimes ill play a musical soundtrack. Anyone listened to Dear Evan Hansen yet? Its amazing.

When my friends and I play EDH; it's usually at my house. We always have music in the background when we play. It's never very loud (so we can easily talk and joke around), and the genres vary from techno to classic rock to hip hop to funk. Whatever we're feeling at the time
For the past two midnight prereleases I've brought my bluetooth boom box so I can stream music from my phone. Honestly, people love it. It's decently motivating when building your deck, and it's usually quiet at that poiny anyway. It's also nice to have some upbeat music when it gets to the wee hours of the morning before sunrise lol
I've never heard complaints. If it does bother ppl they've never said anything. I can turn it down from my phone wherever I am in the building, during announcements and match-ups, so the owner doesn't mind

I don't really listen to music while I'm playing MTG. distracts me from what I'm actually doing lol. And I don't really play my music around other people either because a majority of them dont listen to my genre of music, not even my friends lol.
Maybe I'll build a playlist of more gamer friendly music when the time comes, but for now I just keep the phone off.

The place I play WNM and FNM at plays music.
Sometimes 80s songs, sometimes lyrical metal.
Every now and then 90s songs, which is my jam.

Weirdly I have never been able to play with music playing. I have attention issues (distracted VERY easily by music, I tend to air guitar and shit) so I tend to forget what I was doing, playing, calculating, and even saying.
I think the only music I can listen to while playing Magic is Tech N9ne, CES Cru, Prozac, Big Scoob, and the like which is quite weird in its own right.

my favorite go-to soundtrack for background noise/music is the Final Fantasy 7 Battle theme :p

Generally, at my LGS, there's some pretty quiet music playing in the background. When I play online, I'll generally put Spotify on shuffle and listen to it. So, yeah, almost always.

I listen to rap/hip-hop almost all day everyday, on my headphones when playing online and on my phone when playing with friends. But I also let them pick songs of whatever music they like too, we take turns.
Any kind of music helps me think, but Nas especially does.

I always listen to music no matter what I do. I can even sleep with music. And sometimes I turn on When the music is already tired and does not inspire, I just turn on these similar sounds, which are also licensed

So if its me and one other friend sometimes its nice to have some music on and when im playing by myself online I tend to listen to metal or rock because thats just the stuff I listen to. However, if I am playing with more than one person I hate when people play music because I hate trying to talk over it or hear multiple people over it. Even if its not that loud it still gets in the way and I have a friend that tends to play music in multiplayer settings but I just let it go even though it still irritates me.
