Dismantling a Rarely-Used Deck

My opportunity to play Magic in paper is very limited due to the location of my University and lack of an on-campus Magic community. I currently have an EDH deck (my Nekusar list) that sits in my box and almost never gets played. It contains some cards that would make it easier to finish (EDIT: read: trade towards) my Modern decks, so I have been debating whether or not I should dismantle the deck.

I am able to play Modern a little more than EDH, and I enjoy playing Modern more. That's not to say that I don't enjoy EDH.

So, what would you do? Scrap the deck altogether? List the cards and trade them for Modern staples I need should the opportunity arise, but maintain the shell? Keep it intact in case I find a way to play EDH?

If seeing the deck itself would help (maybe a shell is fine to play the deck?), here is the list: Crudelis Imperium - A Cyclic Chaos.

Thanks for your input!

This happens to me a lot! I think this is another place where proxies are reasonable. If they aren't cool with people you can still make cheap ones as placeholders to make it easier to move the cards between decks.

If modern is what people are playing then keep them in the modern decks and put proxies in their places in the edh - that's the kind of thing that I often do.

The hip thing would maybe be to trade or sell at a discount. It can become a big undertaking to keep track of more than a couple decks on paper at once.

I hate taking apart my decks as well...even if its to share a few cards between two different decks. Its just such a hassle.

In this situation though, since you really don't play with the deck, I say scrap it and redistribute the wealth toward Modern!

Thanks guessling and GearNoir! I was a little unclear in my original post- I would be trading the more expensive things in my EDH deck towards Modern cards, not just shuffling around the cards.

If it's your only EDH deck, I say keep it intact to the extent that it's possible. Proxies (as guessling mentioned) are fine if you have a playgroup that allows them, but if you never know who you'll be playing with (e.g., you go to an event or decide to check out a new store), then having proxies in your deck isn't a great idea.

Thanks Epochalyptik. That's what I was leaning towards. I mostly want to trade the fetches/shocks that are excess past the sets I already have, and some of the "higher valued" cards.
