Colorless Eldrazi Deck Ideas?

General forum

My boyfriend and I have been buying Rise of the Eldrazi booster packs and got pretty lucky by way of Eldrazi cards. We have two Hand of Emrakul s and another that I regretfully don't remember the name of.

We also have been getting colored permanents that put Eldrazi spawn and Eldrazi drone tokens into play, so we're thinking to have an all-colored deck.

Our only other mandate is to have no basic lands. It's a cool idea -- to have only colorless artifacts and non-basic lands to give mana.

What I'm asking for are some ideas of affordable Eldrazi cards, and should we keep playing hit-or-miss with boosters?

If you have Coat of Arms and Skittering Invasion , those would work well for a non-colored deck. I think there was an artifact door that did a better job than coat of arms if you want to make the deck for casual play. There's card:Ulamog's Crusher and Pathrazer of Ulamog ...um...All Is Dust would be a must for a board sweep, not sure the costs of these cards individually. Hope that helps a bit.

Door of Destinies ... is the card being referred to in the last post. kinda like a Coat of Arms , but only benefits the player using it.

Thanks for the input! I just got Skittering Invasion in a booster, actually, so that's one down.

Thinking about it now, things like It That Betrays , Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth would be awesome, but they probably cost a lot -- same with All Is Dust , as was pointed out in a previous comment.

Okay, now for a vote: Do you think we should wait to buy Eldrazi cards? In the sense that 'the longer we wait, the lower the price will get.' That's what seems to have happened to everything else,... but how many more obnoxiously powerful cards can they come out with, seriously?

On another note -- I'd like to thank you all again for your suggestions (Door of Destinies seems like a great idea!), and if you have any more ideas for me, keep 'em coming. ;D

re: Door of Destinies ... If you play Skittering Invasion , you'll only get one counter on it, as it is the number of spells you play, not the amount of creatures, that count. Having said that, All Is Dust would put a counter on door-of-destineis as well. So it's not all bad!

It That Betrays are running $4-5 a playset right now...not much at all.

Boosters, purchased in bulk (box), are generally going to turn out well - if you sell the good rares on ebay you can generally get 50% or more of the cost back, and end up with lots of nice commons and a selection of uncommons, along with some alright rares. Boxes, however, are in the $95-100 range right now.

I've recently retooled my budget Oloro deck to an Orzhov pillowfort style.

I have a bunch of creatures that are just acting as place holders - I'd love to get suggestions for good replacements.

Here's the deck: Orzhov Pillowfort with Oloro
