Cockatrice alternate?

With Cockatrice being shut down (cockatrice.de for an explanation) indefinitely, I was wondering if there is a free alternate to play against other people? The play tester here on T/O is great, but doesn't allow for games against other people (that I know of) o,o
Nice catch, vila_a23. I knew there were other servers, but I didn't know any server addresses.

Lackey CCG. (I don't know what cockatrice is, but I gather it's a way to play magic online. Lackey is amazing for that same purpose)

I prefer OCTGN. It takes patience and some following instructions to set up, but it's really good and supports multiple TCG's. Also visually appealing and user-friendly.

I signed the petition for cockatrice, just saying. I hadn't used it in a few days, and I am sad to hear it got shut down. I will be checking out Lackey CCG then.

What about Mage? It just got to 1.0 and has rule enforcement (which I dislike, but for some people is cool)and there's Virtual Playtable also, from the guy that made MWS...looks like cockatrice, but it's visually better, and deck editor is superiorno need for alternate servers, soon cockatrice will be useless: no update, bugs won't be fixed, new cards won't be added

I still reccomend everyone tryout OCTGN if you haven't already.

It can be any card game you're willing to install. And I know not all of you play exclusively MtG.

Anyone know how to update the card registry with woogerworks? I tried woogerworks.com/files/sets.xml and while it downloads all of the sets, it doesn't download any of the cards :(

Did you upload the set to the program, I remember having to do that before

I downloaded the cockatrice client from woogerworks and and try to use the oracle program to upload the card sets but when I try to use the card xml I downloaded from other sites, oracle doesnt recognize saying "Imported: 0 files completed" then it closes itself. I know I'm doing something wrong just need someone's help to figure out what lol.

I'll second the OCTGN recommendation. It's worked really smoothly for my out-of-state friends and I to play together.

you can still use cockatrice. Just type in www.woogerworks.com instead of the cockatrice.de
