Ok so every so often i will buy a booster box for drafting, latest one being new phyrexia. but i want my next one to extend my legacy card collection (competitive level cards) while also being a good fun draft for everyone. i guess i'm asking, which booster box would best fit the criteria? pre 8th edition is a bonus.

value of cards is irellevent on the "you probably don't want to draft this coz you might damage this $200 card" side, as i provide both inner and outersleeves and playmats for all drafters and they are not optional

I would go with homelands. You can get some really good legendary creatures to make your legacy deck, "legendary!". You could also fell the legacy empire with fallen empires.

Seriously though, I feel as though any of the urza sets would do well. Dibbs on Grim Monolith

don't have that, though my playset of Grim Monolith was my first trade, 4 of them for a Deathrite Shaman i felt ripped off after... then a week later they banned the shaman and unbanned monolith... i not laughed so much at someones misfortune before that

I've heard that Rise of the Eldrazi was a fantastic limited environment.

If you strictly want legacy value though, go with alliances to obtain the force of wills, or tempest for all the wastelands.

My vote would be Urza's Saga, quite a few legacy staples are in that set. Sneak Attack, Show and Tell, Gaea's Cradle, Serra's Sanctum and others...What type of deck(s) are you looking to build that may narrow down a set?

I picked up a box of english MM at my distributor for $360 this past weekend. They're not too terribly expensive.

Some can be found when looking online for even cheaper.

ThatBlueMage i am in the uk and odds of my lgs having a sealed box of modern masters is the exact same odds of them selling me their alpha black lotus for $1

Online sellers are either extortionate prices or not english
