Ban list made me lol...fucking Shahrazad.

it was almost put at 11 out of the 10 useable points, but that would make it playable in 200 card highlander :P

They should have done that. lol

As a 1-of, it's not THAAAAAT busted, even with all the tutor effects.

Holy expletive, this format looks awesome.

its really fun :)

and the main reason for Shahrazad being banned is simply b/c it makes games just SOOOOO long.

I currently have three paper CanHigh decks:

  • Esper Midrange
  • Abzan Enchantress
  • Temur Miracle Grow

Looking forward to some more players joining the best constructed format (after pauper).

So did I read correctly that collector edition printings are legal? Because that's kinda completely awesome.

scrotality They are! As are the Championship Deck cards. This made me really happy because I have a few of them! Also, you can buy them on TCG fairly cheap.

June 23, 2016 4:09 p.m.

yeah, they're legal to help allow the format to be more accessible to players who can't just blow 10k on a deck

Keep in mind that power is expensive, even in gold border. Gold border Black lotus can go for 4 digits, while moxes are several hundred as well.

June 23, 2016 6:13 p.m.

still ,its less, which is the point. and besides, many decks don't even run lotus, and only about half runs moxs. there are just so many other cards like tutors that are better for it.

DERPLINGSUPREME Yep. The format looks sweet. I'm a fan of the point system. I'm gonna take a look at it.

Yea this format basically addresses all of the problems I have with edh, while still being singleton... Which I love. Trying to think of a deck build now lol

cool! well, if either of you wanna play, I'll be on https://untap.in/. Just enable chat with me and we'll set a time :)

My question is, with no commander dictating what colors you play, how do you build a good deck? Do you even have a commander? What's the best way to accomplish this?

June 23, 2016 7:01 p.m.

no, you don't have a commander.

you'd go about building a good deck the way you'd go about using other decks. If you wanna have 1 combo, its tutors and lots of control. You could also do midrange with creature value/combo shoved in which allows it to function either way.

You can also make storm.

think of it more like constructed cube.

For example, the best deck I have Esper Midrange/Control hybrid:

These are things that are quite unlikely to happen in Commander or any two-player format.

There is a reason this format is nicknamed "Cube Constructed".

meh.

i don't get it; why does everyone hate on the silver border cards? some of them are great. and, for real, they should be legal in this and other jank formats.

June 28, 2016 2:12 p.m.

@NoTrueGamer well of course, some of them, like Blast from the Past are totally fine, but were they to be legal it would be a dumb, stupid format. also ,Don't call this jank. it is highly competitive and very fun, certainly not janky.

strictlyWorse says... #23

how would it be dumb? i mean... you get to make an opponent do the hokey pokey. it's genius.

June 28, 2016 2:34 p.m.

its fun, but in terms of playability its weird, as its meant to be. since canadian highlander is an actual format as opposed to just casual, its broken.

would you let unhinged into modern tournaments?
