Which Dice Bag Should I Purchase?

Gear forum

I am seeking a new dice bag, not because there is any problem with my current dice bag (which my mother sewed together for me, although I obviously paid for the material), but because, with how large my collection of dice has become, it is tedious to search through my bag to find a specific die.

Therefore, I was very pleased to learn that there are dice bags that have individual compartments, which is wonderfully convenient for categorizing dice by the number of sides that they have, so I definitely plan to purchase such a bag in the near future, but I am not certain of which bag I should purchase.

There are two dice bags that I am considering: the CardKingPro large dice bag and the CardKingPro immense dice bag; it would seem logical that the immense dice bag would have a great storage capacity, especially since it is the more expensive of the two bags, but the information provided seems to indicate that the larger bag, the less expensive of the two bags, has greater storage capacity, so I wish to ask the other users of this forum for their feedback on this subject.

Which dice bag should I purchase? Does anyone here actually own either of those bags? What do you say about this subject?

If you wait til around Christmas time and are of legal drinking age you'd be surprised what you can find at the liquor store. Had a nice soft purple Crown Royal bag at one point I used for dice.

Mj3913, I was born in 1987, so I have been able to drink alcohol legally for many years now, although I have no fondness for alcohol and rarely ever drink it, although your statement is interesting, because I was actually using a Crown Royal bag for my dice before I had my mother make the one that I currently am using.

DeinoStinkus, I always am very careful with anything that I have, so I do not expect to have many problems with whichever bag that I purchase.

Personally, I store all my dice separately sorted so they stay with their original sets. I use a number of apothecary jars and antique jewellery boxes to store them so they'll look pretty on display.

Between the two, I would probably go with the more expensive one--it has more reviews and a real brand name; the other is giving me knockoff vibes, particularly since it imitates both the basic shape and the skulls on the drawstrings (personally, I find the skulls tacky, but that's a matter of personal preference).

extra compartments in a dice bag seem weird. the chain mail bags look really cool, but i picked up my current dice bag from the renaissance festival. black cloth with a gold dragon on it.

Pyrra, a chainmail bag would be very awesome, but I specifically wish for those compartments, to sort my dice by the number of sides that they have.

Caerwyn, I did not even notice that the less expensive bag did not have a brand name until you mentioned it, so I thank you for making me aware of that.

Caerwyn, I ultimately did purchase the more expensive bag, despite being reluctant to pay eleven additional dollars, because I decided that it was better to be safe than to be sorry, since that bag did have many more reviews and was from a trusted brand.

Also, in response to your earlier post, I care much more about how many sides each die has, rather than the color or set from which they originated, so this bag will be perfect for that purpose.

My setup is similar to Cae’s. I mostly use my dice for D&D, and I keep them individually bagged. Due to budget constraints, I currently use a shoebox to contain the bags and other loose dice (for reference, this is probably about 5lbs of dice, 3/4th of which are bagged).

Sadly, I can’t give input as to what you should purchase.

I actually use a bag from a dice game to hold loose dice when I go to events. I cannot remember the name.... Anyway, it looks amazing, because it has a d6 with a stained-glass pattern on it. It’s only big enough to hold about 75 dice.

Just wanted to share my dice setup. Sorry that I can’t advise one or the other.

Do you need the compartments in particular? You can always go to inkedgaming and get a customized dicebag. I have mine as Ichigo/Hollow Ichigo with a quote on it. I love it every time I look at it.

Pyrra, that is what I have been doing for many years, but I have grown frustrated with the lack of organization that my dice bag has, so this new bag is a wonderful discovery.

Profet93, I have purchased items from InkedGaming, before, and I am very pleased with the quality of those items, but, as I have said, having individual pockets for each size of die is too good of an opportunity to miss.

RiotRunner789, I shall definitely inform everyone here about the dice bag, when it arrives.

I second buying a nice bottle of Crown Royal and using the bag you get from it. They are incredibly high quality and look really good.

Daveslab2022, I did have a Crown Royal bottle, until I had my mother make the custom dice bag that I am currently using.

Daveslab2022, I meant to say "Crown Royal bag," since I rarely ever drink alcohol.

The bag arrived, today, and it is soft and cushioned, yet still sturdy; as long as I treat it delicately, it should not rip or tear.

All of my dice easily fit in the bag, and it still has some spare space, so I shall purchase some more dice for it; the bag has seven compartments, and the center compartment is the largest, so I put my d6's in that space, since I have more of them than of any other type of dice. I put the remaining dice-d4's, d8's, d10's, d12's, and d20's-in the remaining compartments, in increasing order by size, and I used the remaining pocket for my planar dice, my spindown d20's, and my 3D-printed life counter. Best of all, the bag stands freely on a flat surface and will not spill over, unless someone were to push it, so I feel that this bag is a marvel of engineering, and should definitely make other players admire me for it.

Overall, I am very pleased with this bag, and it was absolutely worth the money that I spent on it, although I do believe that it could have cost $5.00 less.
