Protecting the Abacus

So, while I was out playing some EDH, I came across and acquired the Life Counter Abacus that came from The Duelist. Seeing as these things tend to be very rare and valuable (I got mine for $75) and I want to use it, how do I go about protecting it?

Right now, it's in one of those large plastic fat sleeves (it came in that), but it's getting very frayed, and I need a new option within the week (if possible). Any ideas on how to better protect an item of history?
