Playmat?

So, i'm looking for suggestions. I'm trying to do a custom playmat, and would like some feedback on how it looks, etc. I thought this was the right place to post because it is a gear type item.
They just don't look quite right. I'd love suggestions!
yeah, it's hard to center them, ill try to get it better.
Thanks for the suggestions. I liked the wide view of Karn, just because it shows him being awesome.

Also, i have a different version with jace on it, more widespread, that might look better, not sure.
Which art do you like better, the lotus or brimaz, and any other suggestions for the background art (magic related) would be appreciated.

Personally, I think it (especially the lotus one) would look better without the planeswalkers....
And the numbers blended a little bit into the background.

I agree, the planeswalkers on the side kind of just make the whole thing look odd to me.

As for the actual main art, I am in love with that Lotus rendition. That's freakin' gorgeous.

vampirelazarus I have to disagree with you on that, i personally like the planeswalkers, as they are my favorites, and it is my playmat. Everyone is entitled to their own WRONG opinion, however. just kidding, thanks for the input, but i do like the walkers. the whole purpose of the mat was just to show my life totals with some cool stuffs.
I kind of want to add a deck area, with a place to put my deck/ label spots on there, and i also want to put a little tag on brimaz that says Hello, my name is inigo montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. just because i love that saying. For the graveyard i want to put the Oregon Trail thing that says You died of dysentery, and for the exile pile, you REALLY died of dysentery.
Comments on those ideas?

Holy-way-too-many-ideas-for-a-simple-mat, Batman! Seriously? That will be one busy playmat. Might be too crazy. And doesn't really jive with Brimaz (though, if you had just Brimaz without the numbers and walkers, or anything else, an Inigo Montoya nametag would be killer).

That really is a lot for a play mat, but it is yours after all... I personally think done of those ideas belong on a separate play mat, with less going on in the background picture.

I might try it without the numbers, and without the other stuffs. Leave a suggestion please.
Yeah, it is complicated, so i might drop stuff out. Thanks photoshop for making it easy to hide layers.
I might try to ripple the name tag so i could fit it more nicely. Note : there are a lot of inside jokes to this.
Also, do you like the idea of these cat soldiers? So, after Brimaz, King of Oreskos eats a downfall, i should switch out my tokens to a photo of inigo montoya with the, my name is inigo montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. because my 1/1 kitties will obliterate.

First of all the umbers would be annoying to keep track of your life because they are only one through nine. How are you supposed to show that you are at twenty life?? even if you added a zero and put something on both the two and the zero how do i not know you are at two not twenty. In my opinion the background art should be brim and you can do whatever you want with that.However i believe you need to either pick between a place to show your life totals or labeled spots for your graveyard library etc.If you want, send a copy of the psd file and i can try and show you an idea i have for it. Or i can just draw it and give it to you sometime.

The walkers are the numbers, it starts from the bottom, then to the top, like 10, 20, 30, 40, 50. Karn is 10, and sorin is 50.

The reason why these don't look right is because the symbols on the left don't match the playmat. You have to make it meld with the rest of the playmat. And no one will be able to tell that the planeswalkers are numbers. Make them ACTUAL numbers. And another hint, why not just make them transparent, but with only the number and a black circle around them to dictate them?

if you ask me i do not like the planeswalker pics on the side at all. they look very tacky and don't add anything to a pic of Brimaz. maybe if you wanted to have like Ajani on there somewhere since he is also a leonin but that would be it.
and if you want to have a life counter on the side you should have a column with "99+, 90, 80, 70, etc" and one with "9, 8, 7, etc" which is how other mats do it and you put a dice or something similar on the number of your current life.

for custom mats, I'd reccomend putting your name on it somewhere in the image, makes it easier to prove ownership

You need to center the small pictures. Move sorin to the right slightly, elspeth to the left, jace down, and zoom in a bit on karn
