Inked Gaming is doing 35% off custom playmats until 11:59pm PST. Got mine earlier today and I already know I'm going to love it.

Yea it was only a 4 hour sale. 35% off the rest of the day though

kyuuri117 I posted once i found out about it. An hour is enough time if they saw it early enough. But hey, guess i should have found out about it sooner.

wish I would of saw this earlier
still might try to get something

@Lifa, what they were saying is based on the time stamp, they didn't have an hour. Based on the time stamp of when you posted it and told them they had an hour, you were actually already 6 minutes late and announced it to everyone after it ended. So yeah an hour notice would have most likely helped someone out, they just didn't get an hour notice.

35% off is still pretty good. The site is reasonably priced to begin with, so 35% goes a long way

BTW, the image I linked above was taken with a potato. The mat is more vibrant IRL. Highly recommend these guys.

Does anyone know how good the quality of these custom playmates are? And also the custom sleeves too.
November 27, 2015 9:41 p.m.
Haven't bought sleeves but my mat was bought 8 months ago. It's had heavy use on kitchen and shop tables since. The color has slightly dulled since then but no other complaints.
November 27, 2015 10:18 p.m.
I haven't had experience with the sleeves either, but I've bought multiple playmats through the site and they've all been amazing. It comes out looking EXACTLY like the picture you submit

I don't really know how to use photoshop or gimp. If I choose the $40 option, will they do the cropping and stuff for me if I put some requests in the comment box?
November 27, 2015 11:15 p.m.
Sure. I wish it weren't 11:20 for me atm. I'd do it for you for free.
November 27, 2015 11:21 p.m.
I'm sure the deals not still active, but I'm sure they'd edit it perfectly the way you want it. I literally learned photoshop just to create my playmat though,it's not too hard. If you devoted a couple hours you could save a little bit

kyuuri117 I would recommend Paint.NET. Not even joking. It's very easy to use, but has a lot of the features that Gimp and Photoshop have. 9/10 highly recommend. I actually used it to create my playmat art. Can't wait to get it.

TheDevicer Would love to take you up on that offer some time this week. Gotta find a picture I want as a play mat first.

People, if you want reviews just go to TCC on youtube. TCC currently rates custom playmats from inked as the top playmats currently on the market.
The rules are stated on their website kyuuri117.

The rules are made pretty clear on their website. I don't know if I have time given I'm in the middle of finals week stuff, but leave whatever you're working on on my profile or here and maybe I can work with you.
December 1, 2015 4:16 p.m.
Right, I get that you aren't supposed to upload Copyrighted work. But I'm not an artist of any sort, so I don't want to upload stick figures. And considering that you, TheDevicer, managed to get a photo of Ahri, I'm guessing they aren't too strict on their "no copyrighted material" policy.
I'm assuming that as long as there is no artist sig/watermark on the picture, it's fair game.
December 1, 2015 4:40 p.m.
I actually contacted Knockwurst, the artist that drew both that picture and all of Ahri's other splash others (except the current standard one), and asked for permission to use his artwork on a single mat for private use. I linked the company to him. He said he was ok with it via messaging on Deviant Art. I screenshot the message and included in my order.
December 1, 2015 4:51 p.m.
Oh really? Hm, guess i'll do that.
What about like, taking a picture from a random "Desktop Wallpaper" website, where you don't know the artist? How do you find out?
December 1, 2015 5 p.m.
Hm so, as an example, for something like this:
Would I need to get permission from the team that did Ghost in the Shell? Or, J.D. Salinger, the author of The Catcher in the Rye, from where the quote was taken (well, he's dead, but I assume his family holds the rights to the book)? Or, the person who actually made that design? Or all of the above? It's somewhat confusing. Not saying that i'd want to use that picture, but I would like to know.
December 1, 2015 6:25 p.m.
Well, found the artist of the image I want to use on deviant art and sent him a respectful message asking to use his picture for a one time, personal play mat, and took your advice and sent him the InkedGaming website as well. Hopefully i'll get his go-ahead.
December 1, 2015 6:54 p.m.
Nice pick, mate. I'm like 900% sure that using the quote itself constitutes fair use. As for the design of the logo itself, I actually believe that was never copyrighted. I think the only one you'd need permission form here is the artist of that image. BTW, that image is far too small to be used for the printing purposes. You need at least 1920x1080 which can then be upscaled. Since the design of that thin is relatively simple, I could even recreate it, but I won't have the time to do that until the weekend.
December 1, 2015 7:11 p.m.
That was actually one of like 4 images I was considering. I think, if I get permission, i'd like to get this done as a play mat:
And the one I have I think is a good size, it's 1920 x 1080
But yea, if the artist says no, then the ghost in the shell one is prob my second choice.
