Villainous Wealth Speculation?

I'm speculating on cards that are going to be better or worth more once Battle for Zendikar comes out. So, what say you, Villainous Wealth worth a shot picking up now?

Whether it's used a lot or not, the price is likely to stay the same. It'd be less than $2 for a playset so I don't see a reason not to pick them up.

You realize that cards exiled with Ingest can't be cast with Villainous Wealth, right? Wealth allows you to cast only the cards that IT has exiled. Sorry to shoot your spec down.

If anything, it will be usable with the eldrazi processors as there will be more cards in exile to yank back into graveyards

It has value with abilities like Oblivion Sower's (which adds value to another wealth, too). I doubt it will be anything but bad fringe, though.

alulien, yes I realize that, since Ingest removes it from the game, you assumed I was thinking of casting V. Wealth and playing cards that were already in exile.

NoPantsParade Really?

Cobthecobbler I have read the entire card and understand how to use it, but thanks.

weisemanjohn Yeah, if there's already a couple cards out that are Eldrazi and they are for Intro Packs I see your side.

Jay Yes, exactly.

danthek84 Thanks so much, input like yours is exactly what I was hoping for. I think I will defintely trade for at least two playsets.

So why have you brought up V Wealth in relation to Ingest? If your goal is to mill your opponent, either to yard or exile, then I would have expected that to be the meat of your post. What are you trying to do with Wealth and Ingest?

alulien, not ingest itself but the synergies with it. This is a way to bulk exile cards, and some of the new Eldrazi let you pull things from exile, etc.

OK, so we're specifically talking about Villainous Wealth's possible interactions with Blight Herder. It comes down to why you would want to put something in your opponent's yard instead of leaving it exiled. Cards that care about opponent's yard:

With a 2-drop fog effect rotating I'm not sure you could rely on a turbo-fog/ramp strategy to hit a big Wealth, then play out Blight Herder, and then use one of the above like Hedonist's Trove or Ghastly Conscription. It's really slow, and super fragile. Is there another interaction or combo I missed?

@JKLawson89:

I was reading Villainous Wealth and stopped after the first clause

Lol you literally said you stopped reading after the first part, dont front.

Cobthecobbler you're right, I did say that, you are taking what I said out of context. I meant, I stopped because I realized it sends whatever I dont use into exile. However, continue to post useless information that helps no one, thanks.

alulien Im not sure what I would do with it, it just seems like Ingest will be a pretty decent mechanic and v. Wealth exiles too. I havent worked out any combos or anything like that with it yet, Im not even sure what i was going for to begin with, thanks for tinkering around with it though.

With higher cost things floating around I think it could see fringe play. To me it would depend on the ally reprint list. I ran a 4 color ally deck that used gen wave first time around, now I could see v wealth as a lesser substitute. It would be fun.

That is if Harabaz Druid is printed again. With the fetches, and mana fixing lands, I think 4 color decks are possible now.

Well then to respond to the thread before you edited it to be completely different, ingest does nothing for the card. The eldrazi using the exile matters effects will care about it. That's about it. I can see it being played but I can't imagine it being big. Good card though.

And for the record what I said was completely relevant. If you read the card right you'd have seen that it only casts things that it exiles itself, and you wouldn't have had to change your entire question.
