Is this card ever coming down in price near future? It only sees play in Obliterator Rock and mono black decks. I want at least 3 of them for my deck but I can only afford 2 at their current price. Should I buy 2 of them or wait for them to come down?Is there a possibility for this card in Khans? I don't know how it would fit into storyline but mono black devotion is going to loose half the deck post rotation.

I'd say there's a 0% chance of Obliterator in Khans.

It's a huge casual card as well as being coveted by collectors as an immensely powerful card in the fan-favorite color of black.

There isn't much affecting it's price currently in terms of fluctuations, so you'll probably just have to settle for 2.

It will never be reprinted. It was also expensive well before devotion was around and before the Obliterator rock decks were around. It's a cool card that casual players like so it will always be expensive.

zandl is right: obliterator's only chance at being reprinted in a modern masters set than anything. It makes no sense to put it anywhere near a standard block for pretty much ever. It would be like putting Griselbrand in khans, there isn't a purpose whatsoever. On that note, I have 3 that I could be swayed from at the right price

Price highs are always generated by competitive demand, this card will likely fall around the same time as all the other modern staples do, when the modern tournament season ends.

Consuming Aberration is a $4 card. Prices aren't strictly determined by competitive value, and I think that both CA and this obliterator prove it. This thing is a casual all star, and everyone who plays black wants 1 or 4 of them.

In the last few months, they were bought out as well, which drove the price up a ton, and until that group puts them back on the market, they will stay at their very high price. Even after that, they'll still be expensive because casual fans love it.

$4 is significantly less than $30-40.

Not "everyone who plays blacks wants 1 or 4".

It's high price (and by high I mean an order of magnitude over a casual play only card, not over 0.) is caused by competitive usage. Nothing more.

I am not saying that with the lack of a competitive stage this things would be worth under a dollar. (I am not saying that even a little bit) I am saying it's high price is not generated because it's a casual card. And if it were a casual only card it would be significantly cheaper.

Best I can suggest, if you can't trade for them, and you're willing to buy them despite their price, get two now, save up for the third. I don't think it'll ever be reprinted with-in a core or block.

If u put up a trade binder u may be able to trade for them. I have a few extra copies I could let go.
