Missed factory cuts

Do they have any additional value or are they simply effective fire starter? I have a Izzet Guildgate - Land-Gate(R/B) that I got for free in exchange for a delayed shipping time from an eBay seller, the top border is cut off down to the name, and is instead located at the bottom of the card

cool. They have value only to those who want misprints. That means you have to find them to buy it.

They're nice, but unless you can verify that it's a legitimate factory miscut it's probably a NFC, not factory cut, meaning the seller got ahold of an uncut sheet and made the miscuts themselves. Some people may be interested because they're cool and technically (I believe) tournament legal, but most of the specialized market is for legit misprints.

Normally these are worth more if you can see the name of the second card, but you might get some value for it from a Commander player.

@hardhitta71194: That's a really nice miscut, you can see the top of another card's border at the bottom.

Unfortunately, it's a card that's not really played, has seen a bunch of printings, and the bottom border doesn't have as much as some people would like.

It's probably worth around $3, maybe slightly more if you find the right person. Maybe less because it's only really used in EDH. $10 is likely the high point, but I really, really, really doubt you'd find someone to buy it for that much (there's a few miscut gates on E-Bay going for that much, but with no bids).

For some reference, this went for $2 on the Misprints, Oddities, Rarities for Magic: the Gathering Facebook page:

Stone Quarry

For your viewing pleasure, here's some other cool misprints from around the web:

Force of Will miscut with a few $98 bids:

Daze @ $20:

And here is a video about a collector with a bunch of misprints. His collection includes a miscut, black border, foreign, Arabian Nights City of Brass and a miscut Tropical Island
