Self-explanatory. The ban announcement likely put gas on this, but is this a sign that Merfolk is going to be a thing in this Standard environment?
All of its effects can be done at instant speed. So if youre at parity and struggling to get in for that lethal damage, it can tap fish for an extra draw or act like a less effective steel overseer on the opponents end step. Its basically a fish toolbox.
And aggro decks usually lack a toolbox card, so it makes the deck a tad more resilient than the average aggro deck.

IIRC the list has had a 5-0 or two since the Prerelease, even before the bans, and Kumena is what makes the deck good. And it's a mythic in a set without Masterpieces.
