What do you all think his price will end up looking like?

$20-$30 in my opinion. For now he'll probably hover around $15-$20 though.

Anyone have thoughts on why WotC gave us an actual GOOD rare this time? Hope we get something equal to this in the future.

The last one was Utter End... and while it may not hold the price tag that the brand new Thunderbreak Regent does, it's still good. Watch for it to get a bump when Hero's Downfall isn't available. If there isn't another card with direct planeswalker removal, the next best thing to direct damage will be something like Utter End.

abenz419: To be fair, they did print Silumgar's Command, which is probably in better colors. You could still be right, but I figured I'd make that point.

Most of the UB control decks are splashing white for Dragonlord Ojutai, so Utter End could potentially be a better planeswalker removal spell since one mana is a big difference for a control deck.

I did forget about Silumgar's Command but that just feels like it fits better in control, and being in those colors almost forces you into that archetype as well. Whereas Utter End feels like a better utility card for a midrange deck and also can answer other non-creature spells instead of just bouncing them.

Also with the release of a new set we will get new lands as well. That could make Esper more viable than U/B and as ABadMagicPlayer100 pointed out 1 mana can make a big difference. However in an esper build I could see there being some type of split (2-1 or 2-2) between the two cards.

I love how this turned into a discussion about Utter End for some odd reason.

It's because no one actually cared about speculating on it's price. Star City Games already has a price listed for it and there are even 3 of them listed on TCG (currently). Sometimes it's just a better (smarter) idea to consult these types of websites for a card's price than asking the Tapped Out community to go look it up for you.
