This will be the official thread for discussing buyouts, price spikes, price drops, and other sudden market changes.
Feel free to subscribe if you want to stay up to date on changes in the secondary market!
Rules:
- This thread is for alerts and minor discussion about buyouts, price spikes, and price drops. Please do not use this thread for speculation.
- When posting about a price change or buyout speculation, please list data or other evidence.
- Please keep banter to a minimum. The main purpose of this thread is to notify others about price changes; that's harder to do if everyone's discussing some particular deck or how badly they need card X.

Auriok Champion is now $99 at mtggoldfish. I realize its a spike of some sort, and its gonna go down fast, but what caused this spike? Is Soul Sisters back? Is there a new deck where its played?

I feel that more people are looking for targets to turn a quick profit. These things will drop fast, but have they ever dropped to pre-buyout levels? Seems like they are starting to be used as low risk investments. Just a matter of time till a hedge fund figures this out right?

yeah Auriok Champion has fallen to 70 already. But why this card? I can understand Eye of Ugin and Gaddock Teeg, but why Auriok Champion?

@smackjack It's an answer to Twin and Burn, and it also was in Fifth Dawn. This makes it very rare.

If it sees play, and has only one old printing it is more susceptible to large price fluctuations like this. Everyone is getting ready for modern season so demand is high.

I feel that Shadow of Doubt is in the beginning stages of a spike. I know it says no speculation, but I want to discuss the start of a spike rather then after the fact. Is that something we can do in this thread?

Maybe instead of going over the card, just the process of what we see up to a spike. Like a timeline on how to spot future movement.

People want to build w/g infinite tokens again with Eldrazi Displacer an Brood Monitor so that may be another reason for champ goin up.Tooth is creeping up because people are starting to use it again in modern ramp to get ulamog out.

Please try to minimize the banter. Comments pertaining to why something may have risen are alright, but I don't want actual information to get lost amongst posts about how badly you need a card or how much you don't like/were surprised by a spike.

looks like Scrabbling Claws is spiking/getting bought out - likely as a replacement Relic of Progenitus and/or relic 5-8 for eldrazi?

Beginning stages of Bitterblossom and Fulminator Mage Both have seen a 2%+ in the last couple days. I think Fulminator will hit $30 this month.

Well, the Tooth and Nail price spike has already begun. Looks like I will be right all along.
Btw, I think only the Mirrodin printing was affected, not the Modern Masters one, which at present is sitting around $18.

Voice is definitely spiking and could hit $40 easily. a Mythic from a terribly opened set. That's interesting about Leonin...I have 4 of those haha and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is also going up. Sitting at $11 now.
