Just in case anyone was willing to spend $15 and some change on Damnation, SCG has them on sale. Maybe everyone but me knew about that, but I figured I'd throw it out there incase someone else wanted to grab the deal.

How does everyone feel about Damnation though? Obviously it was super expensive, but its only printing was in a barely-opened set. It's just a slightly better Wrath of God (since it's in good colors for modern). I wonder if it'll go up over time still. I feel like it's only $15 because it was in a set that had $10 MRSP packs.

I do feel like most MM3 cards will slowly go up, and it does see play, but idk. I would like to hear other opinions, I was considering picking up a couple but I can't convince myself to yet!

There are several decks in modern that need damnation. It's the only real option available. The alternative options just don't capture its efficiency. To add to that, it's the second best board wipe available in black in EDH. Even if all that wasn't enough to convince you about its worth, just think of rares in most Masters products. Those cards have almost universally dropped to an all time low only to begin a slow climb up after 6 or so month. Damnation's likely going to follow that trend.

Agree with TheDevicer, black really had no better option for a board wipe and its best contender now will probably be Bontu's Last Reckoning which isnt saying too much and allows for black to not have to splash in white for it wipes which opens up a whole other avenue of deck building

Well there's Toxic Deluge in EDH and maybe you can get away with Languish if you're running Tas and Fish in Modern, but that's a bit cute.
