So a couple weeks ago Chalice was sitting comfortably around 47$ and then it spiked up to 60$ now! I luckily purchased them for 47$ but I'm just curious as to what caused the surge in price.
The card's solid vs. UR Phoenix in Modern. Surgical Extraction is similar in that regard, and has also spiked up recently.

That makes sense now. Turn 1 chalice shuts down every can trip in that deck. Thank you!

Also, it will probably be a better card now that a ton of new, playable modern cards are entering the format, in Modern Horizons. The hate cards go up in price the more they can hate on.

Chalice has been gaining popularity for the past few months and is one of the better answers to the Archlight Phoenix decks that have been dominating the modern scene.
