Bfz mythic prices

I'm curious to see which mythics are worth holding onto for a price spike like will dragonmaster climb? Will Oblivion sower climb or fall?

I could see Oblivion Sower rising. A 5/8 for is pretty appealing for some decks. Dragonmaster Outcast and Felidar Sovereign have some casual appeal, but their prices dropped b/c of the reprints. Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger could spike later on in his lifecycle, simply because Eldrazi are super all-stars in casual. Plus he may make a splash in Modern as a Tron sideboard piece.

Aside from them I'm not sure what else could rise or fall. Void Winnower is the type of card that could have a large price tag after BFZ is out of print because of casual appeal and wow factor.

Void Winnower won't go any higher than the likes of Platinum Angel and Platinum Emperion whose effects are even more wow-ing and are generally better.

Void Winnower has a much greater impact on the game than either of those, though. It disrupts your opponent while inherently protecting itself.

Dragon Master outcast will see a lot of standard play and price will be a short term spike. Long term, I don't see him sustaining though

Undergrowth Champion will rise by $5-$10. It's an insane card and in Green, it's easily playable in many decks. Granted, the double green is hard, but not uncastable. I think it will be played alot in the Pro Tour.

Goody: I think not being able to lose the game is a much more powerful effect than is preventing your opponents from playing even-costed spells. But that's beside the point. My prediction is that the Winnower's value does not exceed $7 in the long run.

Undergrowth Champion is good, but it's not $20 good. It will drop like a stone after rotation.

buildingadeck I don't think it's a $20 unless it gets played heavily. It's amazingly good in Collected Company decks, and a threat that gets larger by playing a land is great. I'm excited to see how it performs.

Foil Void Winnower are great pickups, because Eldrazi see play in EDH.

Platinum angel and emperion are casual cards for a reason - they don't affect the board much more than other beefy fliers/creatures do, and their effects are mostly ways to stall. If your opponent doesn't have removal for them then of course they give you value by making sure you don't just lose, but as soon as they rip a piece of removal you're just as vulnerable as before, if you don't lose on the spot.

Winnower prevents them from casting half of their deck, let alone their removal spells - in that sense he protects you in a much better, though slightly random, way. Think about it like this - which is more likely to survive for a turn, winnower or either platinum?

None of this takes into account that a potential majority of the game's most powerful spells are even costed. Commonnly, efficient removal is 2 mana, powerful spells are 4 mana, and game-enders are 6 mana. Obviously not everything is even but I do believe that 2, 4 and 6 mana are the most important CMCs in the formats that Winnower would see play in.

Well in all fairness I think the most widely used removal would be Path to Exile Spell Pierce and Pithing Needle can be used tho

Pithing Needle is useless against Void Winnower

Didn't say these were being used against void was saying they could be used while he on the field
