Hey everyone,. I am in the process of building a Mono-Blue Illusions deck... I need to know which build is ultimately better....

The two contenders are:

Illusions-WIP Playtest

and

Illusions-WIP v2. Playtest

Please playtest them thoroughly, against one another, and other decks, let me know the strengths/ weaknesses that you find, as I have found and corrected the ones I had found while brainstorming this deck.

Please note: I WILL NOT BE ADDING COUNTERSPELLS, as they really tend to detract from my playgroup's enjoyment of the game... the players I play against hate blue anyway, so why give them another reason to?

I'm sorry but i keep seeing that phrase WIP everywhereand it's driving me insane. What the heck does it mean?

Work in Progress is what WiP means usually. I don't know if it has a different meaning when the 'i' is capitalized though.

As someone who tried Tribal Illusions in standard back in the days, here's some advice: For both builds, Vapor Snag is strickly better then Unsummon . Something like Sleep or Blustersquall can be a great finisher once you have enough threats. Phantasmal Dragon is your best creature, boost that up to 4. You absolutly need 4 Lord of the Unreal , no lord = no illusion deck. You could add Adaptive Automaton for another lord effect. Krovikan Mist is much better then the random artifact creatures you play. And counterspellsdo help #hatersgonnahate.

Illusory Angel seems like a great one to add here. Also I'm not sure if you have AEther Vial but they are so awesome

The second one is much better. it is more focused and has less random durdling.

I can't recommend Krovikan Mist enough, and Phantasmal Image is an all-round great card (if you copy a Lord of the Unreal with it, it becomes an Illusion that gives all your Illusions Hexproof, itself included, which is a cool trick).

I run an Illusion-based aggro deck in Modern so I have a fair bit of experience with this archetype. If you want, I'll link you to the deck.~

~(not posting it here because that's a cheap trick, especially in someone else's deck help thread).
