Which is more important: 25 Lands or 60 Cards?

So I've got this 8-rack deck that works fairly well, but I was a little curious & wanted to ask the community something.

I've currently got 25 lands adding to my spells for a 61-card deck.

I'm also aware of the importance of having a 60-card deck.

I don't really want to cut any of my spells, as they're pretty crucial to the game plan (aggro discard & rack shenanigans).

At the same time, I'm not wild about cutting a land, as I like to use them as fuel for Raven's Crime retracing.

So what's better, fellow strugglers? Keeping it at 60 with one less land or staying at 61 with a full load of lands?

I know the difference is fairly minuscule, but I'm trying to be optimal here.

If it works fine as is what's the problem? If you have use for card 61 play with 61

In my opinion, look through your list and find the card that is most likely to be a dead draw, then just take out one. But I think we'd have to see your deck to make a final verdict :)

Well looking at the deck, the answer semms clear to me: Cut the land. Why? Your deck is pretty low curve, maxing out at about 4 with most cards being one or two drops. With that setup even 24 land is plenty, let alone 25. If you don't need that many, then cut it down to 60 where it doesn't need to be at 61.

If you get too many even at 24, you could consider cutting a land down to 23 for another card.

60 cards

Cut a land. With your curve even 24 is fairly high. Don't flood your deck just because you run Raven's Crime .

Sounds like a plan. So if I cut a few more lands, what might be a good card to squeeze in there? I'd love to put some Lili's or Ensnaring Bridge , but I don't have the money to spend on them just yet.

How about more copies of cards you already have like Anger of the Gods (that could be a 3-of). Though, have you considered Slagstorm instead of Anger of the Gods ? It may not exile but gives you the option of hitting players in the face.

Lavaborn Muse , Waste Not , Liliana's Caress ,and the like might be fun. If you want more Retrace shenanigans, Syphon Life may do okay? Otherwise, you could just go for more removal like Dreadbore or Read the Bones /Sign in Blood for draw/consistency.

25 is way too much land

You could easily get away with 22 or 23 land if you curve out at 4 CMC. I would cut 2-3 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and 1-2 Dakmor Salvage . There is no good reason to run more than 1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth when every land in your deck can tap for black or fetch a Swamp . All you are doing is fixing your opponent's mana while enabling your deck to stick you with multiple Urborg. Lands that come in tapped are not very good in Legacy. You want to cast your spells on curve.

The first thing I would add in place of the lands is 3-4 Liliana of the Veil if you can get your hands on them. Otherwise Ensnaring Bridge . 4 Slaughter Games seems a little greedy, I would only run 1-2 to make more room for Lili and the bridge.
