I'm working on building a Monogreen Ramp deck for Modern Nyxwave Genesis . I was just wanting to know which plays out more consistantly for this kind of build- Genesis Wave or Tooth and Nail ? Deck suggestions are appreciated.
For Modern, I think Genesis Wave is better. Being able to just turn over the top X cards of your library is really good. It's feasible that you could G-Wave for 5-6 on turn 4, while an entwined Tooth and Nail won't be available until turn 6 at the latest. Plus, Eternal Witness ing back a Genesis Wave is no joke either.

JWiley129 A G-wave for 6 costs the same mana as a Tooth and Nail. I don't understand your reasoning?
It depends on the deck. Lots of small creatures - G wave.
A few big, important creatures - TandN

ChiefBell - Yeah, idk what I was thinking. I thought Genesis Wave was XGG not XGGG. My bad. I also think G-wave is better because you can get more stuff into play than with a Tooth and Nail .

Agreed, for most decks. Unless you're running only massive creatures and you'd have to cast G wave with an X cost of 6 or something.
I'd say 9 times out of 10 G wave is better in 60 card formats.

G wave could end up getting you garbage or nothing , while t and t will always get you guaranteed cards, and can be varied to get you the right card at that time
For example , you could fetch the demon griselbrandOr fetch you fiend Hunter for removal
In fact that birthing pod like advantage is dramatically better than, genesis wave But genesis wave is also an amazing card, so why not have both Birthing pod isn't bad either

If you like those two, you should try Defense of the Heart .

Knee jerk reaction is Tooth and Nail because it lets you get whatever two creatures you want
