Temur Aggro: Polukranos vs Surrak

Deck Help forum

So I have this deck: (RUG)ged Terrain, and it has been absolutely dominating my LGS at FNM. I expect to take Game Day with it as well. I have been brewing it a long time and it has been evolving since RTR/Theros season was still a thing. I think Khans block has only made it faster and stronger. Here is my dilemma: I run 2 Polukranos, World Eater and he is for sure a beast, but I would like to run 2 Surrak, the Hunt Caller because well, also a beast. Which is the better 4 drop? Polukranos has the potential fight and pump but Surrak gives everything else haste. At the 4 cmc spot they are fairly the same card in this build with 5/ and 5/4 bodies otherwise. Is there a clear right or wrong choice here? This is where I lack....I hate cutting cards that have proven themselves useful for new stuff I want to play.Any other advice or opinions (or +1) appreciated, too!

i think 2 Polukranos, World Eater is better than Surrak, the Hunt Caller. the haste is nice, but with RDW getting more steam, the pseudo board wipe ability is very nice. Also, polu is out of all burn range, while surrak does not survive the stoke

If you expect the Game Day meta to be about the same as the FNM meta, then just keep doing what you're doing. Surrak is better for fast strategies, so I'd recommend him if you'll be up against a lot of midrangy or control decks. Like Khanye said, though, if RDW is really prevalent (it's pretty popular in the meta right now overall) then you'll probably want Polukranos to eat up the Goblins. I think it's purely a meta call.

I see an even spread of most "top decks" at my LGS. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

You can always go 1/1 since they're both legendaries.

Why not both?
