Tasigur EDH

Deck Help forum

Does anyone know what strategies are used for an EDH deck built around Tasigur, the Golden Fang?

I'm thinking cards based around graveyard recursion, delve spells to filter out the cards you don't want, and a few counters and removal spells. So far I've compiled a minor list of blue cantrips, green ramp spells, and black removal and reanimation spells.

I'm actually trying to build a Tasigur EDH deck for my multiplayer playgroup. Do you guys and gals have any suggestions? What would be a possible wincon a deck like this anyways?

Tasigur is at his best IMO in a political control deck. Someone tries to go off, Tasigur ability, have your opponent be someone who doesn't want them to win, get back a counter spell.

I'm all for using counterspells in appropriate situations, but I don't want to set up just a control deck, simply to promote un-fun situations within the playgroup.

I agree, he is at his best in control/combo. It is bug, that is what it calls out for.

I mean, you can build how ever you want. It is just that those colors are great for that type of deck. I think I always look to make decks combo control these days lol.

As long as you have plenty of ramp, and draw you will be good.

What kind of combos are available in these colors as a wincon? I want something that will be fun to pilot.

I can't tell you how much I hate my friend's Political Tasigur deck. It slows down the game way too much to a point where it becomes unbearable. He doesn't even have a win-con in his deck. All he does is make it so no one can play anything.

But I digress. If you are going to play a 'Tasigur's Courtroom' deck, make it a political one. But be prepared to be hated.

You have been warned. @_@

There are alot of combos that could end the game outright, but "fun" is relative, and not the same across the board. Many casual players hate combo decks, and they also hate control decks.

Combo/control Tasigur controls the game until you are able to combo off. I am not sure what you deem fun in your games, but many casual players do not like decks like this. I think they are great personally, but that is my opinion.

My Tasigur deck (The Untold Story of the Golden Fang) is built around semi-control and basically just not seeming like a threat until exploding with a huge Genesis Wave or Villainous Wealth. Alternatively, I win a lot of games my milling myself with Laboratory Maniac on the battlefield.

Really, there are tons of ways you can go with Tasigur. My advice would be to find cards you like in his colors and build around those.
