I was wondering what all of your guy's opinions were on Savage Summoning in EDH. I'm considering putting it into my deck:

With my playgroup I don't normally have problems with Prossh, Skyraider of Kher being countered, but being able to cast him on the end of their turn is kind of nice.

That type of effects usually come from utility lands in EDH. They're less dead in your hand. Besides, if Prossh gets StPed, Pathed, or whatever, you're 2-for-1ing your self pretty hard.

Cavern of Souls is the only thing I can think of

You can just use Winding Canyons and Cavern of Souls without even committing a card, just some extra mana.

Sorry about that, the focus was less on my deck and more Savage Summoning and what could be used in place of it. I'll keep that in mind, though.

In general, Savage Summoning is one of those cards you only run if you really need help in your meta. It's not really something that you run just because of the utility.

Overall, I'd say not to include Savage Summoning. I happen to have it in my Prossh deck because my meta is EXTREMELY into counters and commander tucks. If that wasn't the case, I'd likely cut the card. With that being said, it does pair well with Food Chain as a pseudo protection spell in green.

Leyline of Lifeforce is better for preventing counterspells in EDH. Its also good bait since control decks will be quicker to remove it than more important stuff like Chromatic Lantern (get one of these!).
