I started to play Magic in 2003/2004 and stopped in 2005. I started to play again in 2014 but I miss so much cards from Odissey, Legions and these old sets. I was thinking about create a budget deck, just 4fun, using just cards from 6th edition to 10th edition.

Is there a good BUDGET option to create it? I guess that a Mono Red Aggro would be a great choice.

Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english :)

Yeah man. You could play GW Astral Slide. Your expensive cards are like Windswept Heath and Eternal Witness. Hell, you don't even need the heaths. Playing the artifact decks of the time can be a bit more expensive. 6th to 10th is a long time though. You can build a lot of things from that pool for cheap.

Astral Slide is a deck named after Astral Slide. As you may have guessed, the deck does a lot of cycling. It runs cards like Eternal Dragon, Eternal Witness, Renewed Faith, Secluded Steppe, Tranquil Thicket, etc. The idea is to use the exile effect to flicker creatures for value on your side or to get attacks through. Think of it this way.

You top deck into Tranquil Thicket later on in the game. You don't really need land right now, so you cycle it. That allows you to use Astral Slide to exile your Eternal Witness. At the end of the turn, that creature comes back so you'll get to to return Loxodon Hierarch from your graveyard to your hand.
