Deck Help forum

New to this so didn't know where to go with my question. I started playing magic last spring, got all the rules down and learned a lot about the game, wasn't very successful but still had fun.

I took a lot of time away from the game until now because I was simply too busy to go play at the card shop.

I am now going to return to magic but the only part that really got me down before was constantly getting my ass kicked. I know you can't win every game but I felt like I was constantly behind seasoned players, lacking both the cards and skills to win. My lack of experience also didn't help my decks be better.

Any advice? Thanks ahead of time

Really all I can say is practice man. Find a color you like or a set of colors you like together and find out what you want that deck to do using said colors. I like black the most and black and white is my favorite color combo. Does where you play ban cards? Because if you want you can check out my page I don't care if you remake one of my decks in real life just a note they are kinda pricey but you can use them to help you get a grip on deck building then go for it your self.

I've had that issue in the past and while it was simply a $$$ issue for me, the lack of wins was a bit of a downer no doubt. I'd suggest playing more multiplayer games if you can convince others to. With 3-4 players a few things change. 1) Super aggressive decks tuned for tournament play don't always fare well, especially combo stuff like infect or burn that can feel hopeless 1 on 1 but don't have enough gas to take out 2. 2) the one with a good start can't run away with it as easily. there is an ebb and flow of advantage and if you have less experience/a weaker deck, you usually won't be the one quick out the gate and sometimes come out the victor after the dust settles.
