Legendary creature deck.

Deck Help forum

HELLO! I am in desperate need of help and tips on building a legendary creature 5 color deck. I will post a link to the deck as is at the end of this post. MY main concern is mana fixers and spells which will make my legends easy to cast, and keep alive. I've been doing alot of thinking and discussion about it lately, and thinking about just putting a few of the new commanders into the deck itself. But as much help as i can receive would be greatly appreciated. I really have no clue on how to build a forcefully effective all color deck. Any and all input is useful input. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/work-in-progress-please-help/

WORK IN PROGRESS PLEASE HELP! ~ help with the link. Actually before I even look at the deck, just jamming legends into a deck won't work well if there is no cohesive theme or goal holding it together

Is there a format or goal for this deck? Maybe a particular legend(s) you really like? I usually see G/W EDH legend decks with Captain Sisay .... Is there a reason for the 5-color?

Maybe KrazyCaley's deck I am Blue Legend will serve as inspiration

The reason i wanted to play a 5 color deck is becuase i wanted to play all the legendary dragons in the deck inself. (Rith Darigaaz numot (Im also missing 2 or 3 dragons) ETC...) but doing so would requirea 5 color deck because eventually they all share a color. SO i figured with 10 legendary creatures already in it. i figured id play a deck full of them. Which is why im here asking for help and guidance.

You can make anything work if you want to badly enough. It may never be competitive, but that doesn't preclude it from being amusing. I have a terrible insect tribal deck, for example: Xira Arien, Insect Queen EDH.

Darigaaz, the Igniter and the like are not the original Legendary Dragons, they came later. The original ones that gave Elder Dragon Highlander the name are from Legends, like Vaevictis Asmadi . There's five of them and they are all barely playable, but some folks find it amusing to try. :)

CastleSiege made some good suggestions. I'd add Urza's Incubator , Cryptic Gateway , Æther Vial , Tooth and Nail , Belbe's Portal , Dragonstorm (since you mentioned the Legendary dragons specifically; if they end up making up a small portion of the deck you can ignore my more tribal suggestions). Dragons are expensive to cast in general. You might want to include Captain Sisay in the decklist even if you don't use her as the Commander, along with cheap tutors like Demonic Tutor , Time of Need , and Worldly Tutor .

You're going to want lands that can produce a variety of colors. If you can't budget for the old dual-typed lands like Taiga (check the prices on those before you add them to your decklist) try for things like City of Brass , Rupture Spire , Transguild Promenade , Exotic Orchard . If you want to get REALLY cheap (and hamstring yourself) use the guildgates like Golgari Guildgate , and include Amulet of Vigor . Don't forget to include at least a few of each basic land too.

Hey, I sent you a msg, Manboutu.

Anyway, to recap, what you need most is land ramp and mana fixing and then to figure out on how to play your deck and what you want to turn it into. Please check my decklist out if any of you want ideas on how to make it be better or to make it more interesting... Especially if you want to go the route I did; which is to make an interesting deck that tells a story.
