Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis EDH payoffs

Deck Help forum

I'm making a K&M EDH deck with a large number of draw and ramp spells.

What are some good budget payoff cards?

By the time I hit my payoffs, everyone (including the control players) will have sizable hands, developed boards, large quantities of mana, and low deck sizes. Please suggest cards that are good for this situation.

Ex cards like Mindslaver which do well when your opponents are really powerful

Realm Seekers comes with the deck and is a good option. Can easily come down as a 40+/40+. you can also use cards like Stormbreath Dragon to come down after everyone had drawn a bunch and just wreck life totals.

I ran a karametra deck that used 0 non-permanent cards besides its win conditions Primal Surge or Genesis Wave. It ran all the symmetrical mana doublers - Heartbeat of Spring, Dictate of Karametra, Keeper of Progenitus, etc. in order to cycle through the deck really fast. I think you can use something similar.

Burgeoning is the biggest payoff in a K&T deck. In terms of punishing, make sure that opponents have no max size with Anvil of Bogardan and punish them with Runeflare Trap, Molten Psyche, etc.

In your colors, Jace's Archivist will finish off opponents with large hands and library sizes; force all of them to deck out. There's some similar non-permanents like Winds of Change. To avoid killing yourself with these, you can try Library of Leng or maybe try to get Laboratory Maniac, or just look for cards with similar effects that you can guarantee won't hurt you as bad via careful play like the aforementioned Winds of Change.

Stuff to seize control of the board works; lesser versions of Mindslaver in a sense. Typical red win cards: Mob Rule, Insurrection.

I don't think its possible to deck someone out with Winds of Change unless you are using something like Sphinx's Tutelage

You can't deck someone out with Winds of Change, but with the right cards you can still heavily punish them with it. Namely cards like Spiteful Visions or Phyrexian Tyranny that are obviously not available to you as you're not playing Nekusar, the Mindrazer, the greatest group hug commander ever made (I kid, but he is strong).

I think truthfully you answered your own question in your OP. If the opponents are making use of your "help all" mechanics, then all you need to do is play cards that scale with the opponents themselves. Someone already did point out the Loreseekers and the one dragon, but Treacherous Terrain also came with the deck, and Mana-Charged Dragon are also perfectly reasonable additions to that playstyle.

Something funny you might try (that I myself will be testing out soon) is to run Ink-Treader Nephilim and use Rite of Replication or Tempt with Reflections type effects on it. It's a style that leans towards chaos plays for sure, but I think using that to set up a Biovisionary win is just the funniest thing ever.

I do indeedknow what kind of cards I am looking for, as I stated in the question. However, my lack of experience makes it difficult for me to figure out specifically what those cards are.

I'm likely going to throw in a copy of Thieves' Auction to take advantage as well
