Jhoira or Keranos?

Deck Help forum

I have a red/blue deck that currently has 62 cards, so I need to remove two cards from it, to bring it to the ideal amount of 60 cards.

I have decided that I shall remove either Jhoira of the Ghitu or Keranos, God of Storms from the deck, but I am uncertain which is more less essential to the deck and, thus, more disposable; Jhoira has a lower cost and is always a creature, but Keranos is indestructible, and both of them have very useful abilities.

What does everyone else say about this? Which card should I remove from my deck?

I would say remove Jhoira because I think Keranos would be more beneficial. Being able to either draw and extra card of deal 3 damage to an opponent sounds better than casting a spell for free after waiting four turns in a deck with mostly three drops. I can see you dilemma. Hard choice. Hope I helped!

TheOutcastWarlock, thank you for the advice! Most of the cards in my deck cost 3 mana, with only a small number costing above that, so I do feel that Jhoira is not as useful as she would be if this deck contained many cards with high mana costs. However, I do wish to receive further feedback before I make my final decision, but I still do greatly appreciate your feedback.

TheOutcastWarlock, also, do you feel that there is a sufficient number of non-creature spells to reliably trigger the prowess ability of Stormchaser Mage? If not, I shall replace it with Lightning Stormkin.

DemonDragonJ, your deck is 30% non-creature spells so I think you'll reliably trigger Stormchaser Mage.

TheOutcastWarlock, thank you very much; your advice has been most useful.

TheOutcastWarlock did you notice the 28 land count? he should remove lands.

seriously dude, very few decks ever want more than 24 lands. the only competitive deck i know of to run even close to 28 is amulet titan, and thats because they are very much a "lands matter" deck, and need to get a critical mass of lands early so they can start dropping multiple per turn with things like Sakura-Tribe Scout and Azusa, Lost but Seeking. 24 lands is enough to reliably get 4 by turn 4. if you need more mana than that, then what you need is ramp spells, not more lands.

manbearpig90, I simply am choosing to err on the side of caution; I would rather be mana-flooded than mana-screwed.
