Raynor's Casually Modern Series: Hexproof Aura's

I started playing with the idea of hexproof Auras a while back and ran a budget build long enough to finally cave in and order the Slippery Bogles and Daybreak Coronets etc to finish the majority of the core of the deck. Linked above is my current deck-list and I'd love some opinions on my card choices or commentary on what I could do better or how to play it. Thanks to everyone who responds!!!

Dryad Arbor in addition to more fetchlands should be there to help combat Liliana of the Veil.

Thanks for the input GlistenerAgent. What's the strategy there exactly, though? I take it that the Dryad Arbor basically acts as a hexproof creature for most cards that target non-land permanents. Likewise, it adds yet another creature to a fairly low-creature deck. PLUS it can be fetched with fetch lands. I hadn't thought of that.

Am I missing anything on why it's recommended. I'm trying to work my way backwards to figure out why it's good here.

You can fetch for dryad arbor and if you have an enchanted bogle on the field and someone makes you sac a creature you can just sac dryad arbor instead of your win con. You can also enchant arbor if absolutely needed. Most often only with rancor but it works.

What he said. Mostly having a fetchland up to sacrifice a Dryad Arbor to Liliana of the Veil when you only have one other guy in play.

More duals. Almost no cards in the deck have colorless mana requirements, so sometimes the curves wants to do crazy things like T1 G, T2 GG, T3 WWW. The more lands you have that produce both colors the better.

Even if you don't want to shell out for more fecthes, Horizon Canopy, etc. Brushland, Razorverge Thicket and some of the rainbow lands are pretty cheap.

Wooded Bastion should also be in there, though I only advise playing one because if you play multiples you chance having very awkward mana.

Huh. I guess that strategy does make a lot of sense. Interesting. I had considered Razorverge Thicket but had just figured 10 + duals would be plenty, but that's why I'm asking you guys! People who know what they're doing to give me good advice! Thanks!!!

Wooded Bastion's price is a pain. Glad to hear I only would want 1.

I played Bogles for awhile. You're land base should look like something like this

4 Razorverge Thicket

4 Horizon Canopy

4 Windswept Heath

4 Temple Garden

1 Dryad Arbor

1 Wooded Bastion

2 Plains

2 Forest

Aside from the rather expensive landbase, which I will start working, are there any other places I can tune this deck?

hey,

i'd play path to exile as MB removal instead of Swords to Plowshares. slows you down a little bit. and you want to win asap

also you can cut 1-2 lands.. yes the arbor has to stay in ;) 1 basic forest works fine for me (to be fetched before Blood Moon resolves so you can Nature's Claim it for example)

+sideboard depending on your local meta

then you are ready to annoy your friends

Thanks for the advice PepsiAddicted That makes sense, and I would rather be running the Path to Exile, to be honest. Unfortunately however, I only have one and it's in my EDH deck currently. They are on my list of things to pick up though. The Path to Exile is just a LOT easier to get ahold of. My friends and I have drafted 2 conspiracy boxes since it came out. Nothing except the modern event deck is currently in print that contains the Path to Exiles and even on sale that's 50 bucks.

Thanks for the advice though!
