Help with W/B Deck For a Friend

I play magic a lot. I recently got my best friend into playing magic and I want to make him a deck so he can use instead of using his intro deck. He wants white and black. The white will serve as defense/ life gain and the black will be kill spells and beefy creatures. Any cards you guys recommend? Here are some cards I think will fit this deck.Chaplain's Blessing Sunspring Expedition Vampire Nighthawk Obelisk of Alara Rune-Scarred Demon Doom Blade Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis Necropolis Regent Lord of the Void.
