Deck Help forum

ALRIGHT GUYS, TIME TO SMASH SOME FACE IN WITH SOME GOOD OLE FASHIONED RED GREEN AGGRO! ...phew, okay I got a little excited there. So, I am currently testing this Gruul Zoo list I have just today put onto tappedout and it looks pretty sweet. I am running a variant using Domri Rade for value and removal, as well as the recent addition of artarka's command, which is amazing I must say. The deck is very linear and straight forward, much like the normal naya zoo deck. The difference here is this: our lands aren't as fancy, and this deck costs a hell of a lot less. However, it still needs refining so that is what I am looking for. Any help you have to offer for the main or side is greatly appreciated!

I would say add Rootbound Crag over copper line gorge

Oh and another thing change some of your artifact destruction in your sideboard to Destructive Revelry so you can hit enchantments too in case you go against splinter twin or B/W tokens

Green_Ghost is right. Rootbound Crag over gorge. Vexing Shusher might be worth having on the sideboard. Replacing one, or even two of your Domri Rade with Sarkhan Vol could give you an edge as well.

Green_GhostRuke Thanks for the input! I disagree with the thoughts on Rootbound Crag; It can lead to some awkward draws with two in the opening hand, where as Copperline Gorge if it was the same hand except for them it would be fine. With this deck, it is rare to play more than three lands, and when I do by that time i don't need four mana available at that instant so I prefer the gorge. I will add Destructive Revelry over some of my artifact hate, i thought about it while building but opted against but another opinion strengthens my thoughts on it. Vexing Shusher seems underwhelming to me, but if i ever find myself in a very control oriented area I will consider adding a couple to the SB. As for Sarkhan Vol, he's pretty sweet but with only 18 lands (four of which are fetch lands for further thinning) I can't consistently hit 4 land drops, so I prefer the Domri Rades in this build.

Landbase:

4 Stomping Ground, 3 Forest, 1 Mountain, 4 Wooded Foothills, 3 other green fetchlands, 3 other red fetchlands

You can't play four Copperline Gorge in your Flinthoof Boar Kird Ape deck. That leads to awkward and underpowered draws as well. I'd stick with an entirely fetch-shock manabase, and try to race the burn decks rather than save life against them. I'd play at most two of the fastland.

GlistenerAgent Good point, I'll go up my fetch count.
