Going to create an Ally Tribal EDH deck, thoughts?

Hey guys, I am going to create an Ally EDH tribal to pull off lots of fun triggers with some good tribal-friendly artifacts and enchantments.

  1. So, do you think I should go all 5 colors with this? If so, which general.

  2. Should I use a Tri-color EDH deck? If so, which colors and which general? Thanks!

  • Also, feel free to post suggestions of good non-ally suggestions for this Ally tribal deck in the link below:

Ally EDH Tribal, Help Me Build It!

For those of you who aren't certain of what I mean by "Ally", it is a creature type. Some powerful examples are Harabaz Druid , Agadeem Occultist , Sea Gate Loremaster , Ondu Cleric , and Kazuul Warlord .

The way I see it, there are only 30 actual "Allys" in MTG and that is all colors. Limiting it to 3 colors may be hard to pull off. Thoughts?

Every five color Ally deck I have played against is really strong and sometimes pretty fast. So going five color would be better. For your general, Karona, False God , even if it helps your opponents, they most likely won't make much use of the ability.

I actually have a five color Allies EDH deck built. It's somewhere on here if you wanna check it out.

Notes:

Run five color. Three color would be an ally subtheme, at best. If you do decide to go three color, green is a necessity. Red is also probably good (because of haste enablers). Blue gives you card draw ally, white gives you a way to force blockers through in Kabira Evangel , and black has Hagra Diabolist , which is a sturdy way to win in any Ally deck. Blue and/or black also gives you a win condition in the form of Xenograft and/or Conspiracy in conjunction with Turntimber Ranger , to get arbitrary amounts of creatures.

Figure out your budget soon, and from there, get your land base sorted out ASAP. If money's no issue (and I mean like 5000 is something you can drop on a deck), ABUR duals, shocks, and fetches. You will need it. If you've got a smaller budget in mind, Vivids, gates and Maze's End , and the shardlands from Alara (Arcane Sanctum , etc.) are all good options.

Recursion is something that allies, as a tribe, kind of lack. There's a ramp ally and a card draw ally, but the only ally that gets cards from graveyards can't get them from yours. If you're willing to run creatures that aren't Allies, Avacyn, Angel of Hope , Eternal Witness , and Gravedigger are good options off the top of my head. If you're not willing to, there's Elixir of Immortality , Wheel of Sun and Moon , Oversold Cemetery , and Patriarch's Bidding .

These guys thrive on ETB triggers, attacking, and being able to throw down as many dudes as possible. Cloudstone Curio , Conjurer's Closet and Ghostway help with the first thing; Shared Animosity , Coat of Arms and Beastmaster Ascension help with the second; and Aluren , Descendants' Path , Call to the Kindred , and Primal Surge help with the third.

Play 5 color and make sure to include Xenograft to go infinite with Turntimber Ranger . Each Wolf will be an ally and will allow you to trigger the other Ally abilities as much as you want.

PS Changelings. Mirror Entity wins games.

Nevermind on the Ashes of the Fallen . I used that when I had Horde of Notions as my general.
