Foundry Street Denizen vs. Other One Drops

Deck Help forum

Hey everyone!

So I just built a mono red heroic deck for fun. I am debating between using Foundry Street Denizen or other one drop creatures like Rakdos Cackler or Firedrinker Satyr.

You can see the deck here:This Game Shouldn't Last Longer Than 3 Minutes

Feedback would be appreciated. I think I may try and play this deck on Friday.

Rakdos Cackler , Firedrinker Satyr , Legion Loyalist and some number, but probably not 4-of, Frenzied Goblin are all higher up on the totem pole than Foundry Street Denizen .

Rakdos Cackler and Firedrinker Satyr are simply a consistent 2 power, which is important once you start running out of cards. Rakdos Cackler is also immune to both Doom Blade and Ultimate Price , often making it the safest target for a Madcap Skills . It's not much, but games get decided over less relevant interactions all the time.

Legion Loyalist brings a whole new element to combat and plays extremely well with the combat pumps, it's also one of the few outs to mono-blue and Master of Waves . Frenzied Goblin similarly fouls up combat, making it it extremely hard for midrange decks to stabilize with creatures.

Compare all that to Foundry Street Denizen which sometimes gets to attack on T2 for 3 and it looks pretty sad by comparison.

I appreciate it! I would like to run the Loyalist instead (had thought about that but didn't list it above) but I only have one right now. I may split the difference and try and obtain one more Loyalist and run either two of the Cacklers or the Firedrinker Satyrs. I have both of those so no issues obtaining them.

In comparison with the other red one drops, Foundry Street Denizen is 'the worst' one. It is very powerful when you start the game with him, but it can be terrible as the game continues. Topdecking a denizen is always bad feeling!

That has been the feeling I've been getting as I've been play testing it. I took all four of them out and have replaced them and updated my deck.
