Dimir Mill (Help please!) copyPlease help me with this deck. It is a dimir mill build and, seeing as I am quite a new player, cannot be made much better due to my lack of card knowledge. This link is to the deck as I currently have it.

well firstly do you have a budget? im not trying to cast you a bajillion dollars but i know a few mill cards that are quite pricey because people like them. Glimpse the Unthinkable is a fantastic one but some money is involved. another cheaper one is Mind Funeral . another issue with mill decks in edh is the fact that people run cards like the eldrazi or Serra Avatar which shuffle their graveyards into their decks so i would recommend cards like Leyline of the Void so that they cant do that. i know it messes with certain of your own creatures but i believe its necessary for the deck to be able to play against a lot of decks. just my two cents, take it how you like

Well, my budget is quite low. I am a 14-year-old with no job, so there's a bit of a problem. I could still get a few cheaper cards, and I plan on things like Nemesis of Reason but that's probably my upper limit. Also, everyone seems to be saying Leyline of the Void so I probably will do that, but it will mess with one card in my deck. The card that will mess with is my flashback card that has a CMC of X+1, and if you flash it back for the same X+1 cost, it mills double the amount of mana used for X.

Leyline of the Void only impacts your opponents' graveyards, so Increasing Confusion (if that's what you're talking about) should be fine. Also, Mesmeric Orb is an excellent card for mill decks even if you're milling yourself.

I do play a mill deck (look at my profile if interrested) and i while i do not use Leyline of the Void , it is an awesome card. It does indeed mess with Increasing Confusion , one of my win condition... Keep in mind that you probably wont see both in a game, unless you tutor..... Also the leyline will get destroyed at some point, leaving an opening to cast and flashback Increasing Confusion .

Also, as a new player in EDH, you must understand that milling 3 hundred card decks in a free for all is way more difficult than it might be in other formats. Try to make the most of that milling in reanimating their own creature. Last week, my commander Lazav, Dimir Mastermind became a copy of Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre on a lucky mill, it was game.

You can also get some easy and over done mill combo. Look into the last block for some easy to find dimir card.

I have looked into Mesmeric Orb, and it seems quite helpful. Also, I completely misread Leyline of the Void and thought it exiled all cards for everyone. That makes it a ton better.

I would also recommend cards like Extract from Darkness that hit every players deck for multiplayer games

A friend of mine played an Oona, Queen of the Fae mill deck that used Tunnel Vision and Hinder /Spell Crumple /Vessel of Endless Rest and the like. He used Grand Architect and Pili-Pala as well for infinite mana and exile everyone's libraries. Another combo he used was Helm of Obedience with Leyline of the Void , if your group is okay with infinite combos and whatnot.

Altar of Dementia is a fun one, especially when you have something like Consuming Aberration out. And with the Altar getting a reprint in Conspiracy, it shouldn't be that hard to get a hold on one.
