Death and Taxes

Deck Help forum

I dont know if this is the right place to post this, so don't crucify me if it isn't, but can someone be kind enough to share a budget death and taxes build with me, or possibly point me in the direction of a death and taxes primer? Working on a little project, and I wanna see if there's something I've been missing. I appreciate any help.

If you mean the legacy version of this deck, it relies heavily on Wasteland and Rishadan Port with a Karakas or two, sometimes three.... so the manabase isn't very budget. Outside of those cards it's really just AEther Vials that will set you back a bit if you don't have them, but the creatures are all very cheap, regardless of what you play with. I think Containment Priest might be the most expensive unless you want to use Stoneforge Mystics.

Rather than a primer I'd suggest just going to starcity and looking up the legacy decklists from last week's tournament and check out the current DnT lists that did well. It's a pretty easy deck to play with, since it's proactive, and forces your opponent to deal with what you're doing, rather than reactive. The basic jist of the deck is; Resolve a threat, then beat your opponent to death with it while constraining their mana to the best of your ability. You should play Thalia or Vryn Wingmare ahead of others, unless you're playing against elves, or another small creature based deck, which basically depends on you getting an attack with Umezawa's Jitte in before they go nuts if you want to win.

If yeh need any oppinions and your working with the modern version, both elpokitolama and I can help yeh with that. As well, Scorprix is like the master of budget.

(Though Scorp's version is the other archtype, hatebears last I checked. At 50$ o.O Insane..)
