I'm working on a Ravnica-themed cube, and I'm wondering whether the Primordial (Luminate Primordial and its kin) is better or worse to run than the Hunted series (Hunted Phantasm and its kin). While the Primordials have a clear power advantage, their mana cost is so high, they seem almost useless. The Hunted set has a generally lower mana cost, but has significant drawback that makes them hard to run.

Here are the full lists of each set:

Primordials

Luminate Primordial

Molten Primordial

Diluvian Primordial

Sepulchral Primordial

Sylvan Primordial

Hunteds

Hunted Lammasu

Hunted Dragon

Hunted Phantasm

Hunted Horror

Hunted Troll

For reference, you can find my cube here

the primordials are better. Don't like giving my opponent creatures in a limited format. and the primordials are limited bombs.I'm also building a ravnica-theme cube. this is my list: http://tappedout.net/mtg-cube-drafts/ravnica-pauper/

I run the primordials in my edh cube, altho i love the flavour of the hunted creatures, id include both tbh. If the games will be multiplayer definitely include both as the politics of the hunted guys is great too

It is a singleplayer cube, but with Leyline of Singularity in the cube as well as Leyline of the Meek and Doubling Season, the hunted creatures can be a lot of fun. Like you, I really love the flavor of them.

Unfortunately, I feel like some are more powerful than their Primordial counterparts, while others aren't. Hunted Phantasm>Diluvian Primordial and Hunted Dragon>Molten Primordial. For blue, a 4/6 unblockable on T3 is great, and all the control you have should keep you from having to worry about the tokens. For red, a T5 6/6 with flying and haste can end the game. While Molten Primordial can as well, it's two turns later, which can be catastrophic for red.

With all of that being said, I want to include a set of creatures, and with 60% of the cards being stronger in Primordial form, I think I have to choose the Primordials. Thanks for the help guys!
