creatures with graveyard recursion??

Deck Help forum

I'm putting together a Lord of Tresserhorn EDH deck. It's going to basically be a voltron build with a slight zombie theme (though not necessary). I'm looking for cheap creatures that I can bring back from the graveyard like Gravecrawler and Bloodsoaked Champion for example. Since most of these creatures tend to be zombies there's a small sub theme going on with Risen Executioner and things pumping zombies.

What I want to know is what is the best way to search for these creatures? I've tried using gather but either my searches are so vague they include every card with the word graveyard or creature on it, or they're so specific that there is obvious cards left out of the results.

Bloodghast.

Also, you better be including Skullclamp if you're running these creatures.

As far as tutoring, Buried Alive is the most reliable effect you're going to get. Find Buried Alive, reanimate your dorks, and then go from there.

yes, Skullclamp is definitely in the deck for these types of creatues. Is there any others that you can think of real quick? Also, is something like Coffin Queen worth a slot in a deck like this? Obviously plan A is to get LoT on the board and swing as fast as possible, but when that fails I can sac creatures I steal. Not to mention stealing creatures is just good, plus they're exiled when I lose them.

I think playability depends on what you're trying to do. For competitive EDH, Coffin Queen might not be good enough (I don't know for sure though). For casual EDH, I think any card is playable, especially in a deck which fits the theme.

Other than that, Coffin Queen looks strong, but not broken. 3 mana for a 1/1 body is pretty bad, but 3 mana reanimation (from any grave no less) is pretty awesome. The fact that you can choose to keep or get a new target is good.

Not sure what colors you're playing besides black, but Vengevine is great if you're playing with green.

Reassembling Skeleton is another solid recursive creature.

How about Boneknitter if your running a zombie sub theme depending on how large the sub theme is as it lets you regenerate any of your zombies.

these are some other cards I found that could be returned from the grave or return cards from your grave or can take advantage of having to have cards put into the grave you might be interested in: Anathemancer, Balthor the Defiled, Butcher Ghoul, Cemetery Reaper, Diregraf Captain, Dregscape Zombie, Geralf's Messenger, Ghoulraiser, Grave Defiler, Grave Scrabbler, Lord of the Undead, Nightscape Familiar, Null Champion, Pyre Zombie, Shambling Remains, Skaab Ruinator, Walking Dead, Zombie Master,

Bloodghast is definitely one of the best recursion creatures. You could also add Chandra's Phoenix if you're running any red burn spells. I know neither of those are zombies, but you could add a Conspiracy to make them all zombies.
