About Exiling cards after being cast...

Deck Help forum

Note: It's official; Not that I want to market this, but I am planning on an Izzet Instant/Sorcery deck. One problem, though. Some cards (Most notably Timetwister variants) exile themselves after use. I'm still planning on a commander, but I want to know what cards in Izzet's colors can bypass this. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! :)

I was curious, so I ran a quick Gatherer search and found a couple options, of varying degrees of effectiveness:

Cast Through Time--this will only work once, and only works for spells you cast from your hand. You can have Cast Through Time's ability take precedence over the spell's exile ability, so the spell will be rebounded once.

Eye of the Storm will not let you cast the card immediately, but you'll be able to cast it with any subsequent instant or sorcery spells. However, this is a mirrored ability, so it work for your opponents as well.

Any permanent that allows you to cast copies--Panoptic Mirror, Isochron Scepter, etc.

Runic Repetition is a one-shot if you exiled a card with flashback.

I suppose they will do. Thanks BTW, cdkime. I'll keep these in mind for now. I have two other decks to complete first though... X/

Just a heads up Panoptic Mirror is banned in EDH.

I thought you meant Painter's Servant at first. X. (Though that's banned as well.) Anyways, keeping that in mind...

You could use Cast Through Time with an Isochron Scepter with an imprinted Remand or Unsubstantiate to gain access to these spells as often as you want.
