Now I was wondering what would be best for an 8 rack deck now considering all the new opportunities it has been given? Pack Rat , Waste Not , Bitterblossom Some help me please on what I should run. I have my set up list and just three in the Bitterblossom in the side just to test out when I have to take out Bob for another token producer. It's in the runs, so it not perminent. Just wasnted to see what you all thought.

Control The Hand-Control the Field 8 Rack

If you read SCG articles, Matt Higgs just wrote an article about 8 rack called six pack where he talks a lot about how he uses pack rat. I like pat rat a lot better than bitterblossom because of how he interacts with ensnaring bridge. I don't bob a whole lot but I dont play enough with the deck to know

I don't play 8-rack, but I've heard that while initially sounding great, Waste Not is very lackluster, as it's too slow.

((look at this way: you could either Waste Not T2, or Wrench Mind T2.))

I would only play waste not if you splash red for cards like Burning Inquiry . I do not like pack rat because of his anti-synergy with bridge. The bigger the rats grow, the less likely they are to be able to attack with bridge there. Bitterblossom is a little bit better with bridge, since you need just one card in hand, but a lot more stressful on the lifetotal.

Ultimately, it comes down to testing. Proxy the what you do not have and test it.

Pack Rat all the way. It is hands down, the best innovation 8Rack has seen in a long time.

-Every card becomes a potential threat to the opponent

-It works on it's own

-It doesn't cost you life

-It synergizes well with Dakmor Salvage , Raven's Crime and Darkblast

Boza, the thing about how it interacts with Ensnaring Bridge is this... Cards like The Rack and Shrieking Affliction are 8Rack's primary WinCons. Pack Rat is a backup plan/alternate WinCon. If the bridge is holding back your army of 500 rats, so what? Our 8Rack deck is happy to kill them slowly, and all those rats are a deterrent to them nuking our bridge, as we'd then attack them. And remember, you can always build up an army, then use Liliana of the Veil 's Ultimate ability on yourself, nuke only the bridge, and swing for lethal.

Pack Rat is where it's at.

Such Threat!

Much win!

Ender666666 I am more likely to agree with you more and more that I playtest my deck. I threw bitter in there just to see how it would be like if I needed to take Bob out and replace him with something. I found that was just a bad idea overall lol and realized that Pack Rat may seem to be the solution.

I like Dark Confidant in the deck considering it does do damage to me, but he has saved my butt on more than one occasion by siphoning out unwanted lands if I don't have a Raven's Crime in the graveyard or I needed one discard spell.

I was thinking I could run three Dark Confidant and three Pack Rat I was wondering what your thoughts were on this? I was also contemplating on putting Witchbane Orb and Bottle Gnomes in the side as well

The only reason that Dark confidant worries me is that 8-rack is a deck that rarely generates free wins and so the life lost from confidant is very important

julianjmoss yeah, Bob is pretty dangerous in this deck. The card is pretty much a hit or miss, plus playing a game of chance as well. Bob can basically either save you or hurt you and going for this deck it generates no free wins lol. Technically you have to earn it with 8-rack. I'm still at a toss up between putting in Pack Rat or sticking with three bobs and waste not
