Prolonged Journey
Sorcery
Search your library for up to lands with a basic land type and exile them, then shuffle your library. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may put one land exiled this way onto the battlefield. You may do this at the beginning of each of your upkeeps until no lands exiled with Prolonged Journey remain in exile.

I would make it an enchantment though. That way, you can avoid the clunky final sentence and make sure those lands come into play tapped.

Since this specifically looks for basic land types, this means you can pull a Temple Garden with this. This is supremely too good. I would change it to basic lands only.

I don't like it as an enchantment because enchantment removal is a thing. what if I up the mana cost by one and make it basic?

the converted mana cost reference I guess,
worse than: 2 - Farseek, Nature's Lore
worse than: 3 - Cultivate
worse than: 4 - Skyshroud Claim, Explosive Vegetation
worse than: 6 - Nissa's Renewal

thats the problem with the mana cost is if it is , then it is better than cultivate at CMC 3. And it probably shouldn't be better than cultivate. However at , it is worse than all the other ramp spells.

This way it is the same as Primal Growth at CMC 3, and slightly worse than Skyshroud Claim at CMC 4.

I am going to agree with Boza regarding it being an enchantment. Enchantments are cleaner than instants and sorceries with ongoing effectsthe rules text is clearly placed in a convenient location on the battlefield.

Yes, it will be subject to removal, but thats fair. This card should be a gambleyour return is significant as you are drastically thinning your deck, ramping, and guaranteeing a land drop. Interestingly, this card sort of exists: Endless Horizons.

But, if you wanted to keep it as a sorcery, perhaps the following might be a bit cleaner:

Search your library for X basic lands and exile them, then shuffle your library. Exile ~ with X storage counters on it.

At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a storage counter from ~. Place a land exiled by ~ onto the battlefield.
