I'd make it .

I don't think so, because it needs other effects to grow big, and assuming that you're designing this for EDH, it'll probably get shot down before it can get very big. Still, Krark's Thumb on a stick would make for an interesting deck.

Combos with Krark's Thumb! I was thinking about a coin toss deck fairly recently. It's more a collection of cards than a deck, but it might be a useful reference here; Heads or Heads?. This card might make it viable!

I actually like this quite a bit. Maybe make it a 1/2 so it doesn't die instantly due to Night of Souls' Betrayal. And like the others said, make it cost more.

I actually think that you could make this bigger like a 3/3 for 6 and have an effect that happens on each players upkeep that makes you flip a coin, if you win the flip draw a card.

For the record, I love the design space you are playing with. There is a lot of room to play here. The main problem I see with WOTC ever printing a card like this is that they have tried to keep slow cards to a minimum. This could lead to very long turns.

This, Krark's Thumb and Fiery Gambit give you massively improved odds of drawing 9 cards; you can get three consecutive heads with probability 343/512 ~ 2/3!

Actually, I think it's better than that! I was assuming that you lost if at any point all the coins came up the same, but that ignores the case that all of your flips come up how you want them, ie it doesn't matter which ones you ignore. So in fact it's 3375/4096 ~ 0.824 > 4/5, so you've got a more than 80% chance of getting the big prize!

I like the first one better still, as we need more 1-drop and 2-drop commanders (although Nin, the Pain Artist technically has izzet covered). The 1 toughness isn't too bad as I just have to flip a coin from an effect and he's good.

I was curious, so I looked up all 1-drops and 2-drops that I'd say are playable commanders:

So I would want hopefully 1-drops of blue, black, and green (and I guess a cycle of hybrid one drops for all the dual colors except selesnya) and for 2-drops, green, orzhov, gruul, boros, and simic.

Yay time for more designing :)

Eladamri, Lord of Leaves for green is fantastic for green elf tribal, Radha, Heir to Keld is great for tron/ramp, and you forgot one of the best Golgari commanders out there, Skullbriar, the Walking Grave for tron/zombie tribal.

I like it. Forces you to use all the izzet coinflipping cards

Oh my goodness, this is very powerful! But that doesn't mean I don't like it!

Pairs well with Chance Encounter and Impulsive Maneuvers. Neither of which are legal in Modern, but in commander or legacy, ho ho...

Make it 1 cmc, 1/1, and change the 2nd ability to...

If you would flip a coin, instead you may pay . If you do, flip two coins and ignore one.

I don't necessarily need it to be a 1-drop, and actually id prefer it to be a 2-drop.

Idk if I should open up a new thread for this, but I've got another design:

Agio Prostati, Wall of Akros

Legendary Creature - Elemental Wall

Defender

When ~ enters the battlefield or at the beginning of your upkeep, choose War or Peace.

  • War -- If a source would deal noncombat damage to a permanent or player, it deals double that damage to that permanent or player instead.

  • Peace -- If a source would deal noncombat damage to a permanent or player, its controller gains that much life instead.

4/4

Based on the rulings for Krark's Thumb, I'd say you can stack his ability multiple times in a turn. This stacking is very OP, because the probability of failing drops with a double-exponential decay rate. Make him tap.

I agree too, but also because it also doubles the first ability.

I'm going to replace the with .
