Rare

Leeroy Jenkins

7/3

haste, trample, indestructible

~ attacks each turn if able.

~ can't block.

Whenever ~ attacks, put a -1/-1 counter on each creature you control.

he should have "whenever leeroy enters or attacks tap all other creatures you control. they may not attack this turn." isntead of that last part.

The whole point is that he kills himself, as well as any little guys you've got alongside him.

then get rid of indestructable and give him fading.

I'd totally play that in a jund shell with Melira.

So he gets blocked once and dies?

I see it as a really good recovery play after a boardwipe or a card that can push through small blockers. Fading just means he's either too strong on an open board (swinging for 14 unblocked at fading 2) or too weak on a cluttered one (essentially a Lava Axe if he gets chumped by a 2/2). I want this to be the opposite of "win more", a recovery tool for when aggressive decks have overplayed slightly or a psychological tool to make opponents second-guess any wipes.

Also, if your comments are related to power-level concerns than we can talk about shifting down 7 to 6 or 5, or bumping cmc up.

fine. fading and indestructable.

The fading is redundant then . . . I'm just not sure what you want to get out of that mechanic. Other than the Melira abuse (which, though strong, still requires two cards, can be countered, PTE, Dismember, etc.), why double down on him getting rid of himself?

Just to be clear, you realize that the -1/-1 mechanic applies to himself, meaning (outside of Melira shenanigans) he'll attack as a 6/2 the turn he's cast (assuming he's cast first main phase, the "can't block" caveat was added when I realized that he could be cast second main phase and then get in a "free" round as a strong blocker), a 5/1 the next turn, and the third turn he'll attack but then die before damage (as a 4/0).

Again, if it's power level issues we're talking about, we can talk. I envision toughness buffs being really strong, heck, Giant Growth on the third turn would be huge . . . he might cost too little or start too strong. I just don't see how kludging in the fading mechanic is helpful.

Now this is interesting... I actually find it a tince bit lackluster. For four mana, you only get to attack twice, it has no other use, AND it cripples your entire team...

He should be a 6/2 with all that jazz in my opinion

May 14, 2015 9:05 p.m.

He becomes a 6/2 when he attacks for the first time, so that's not really necessary.

OOO! OOO!

how about when it attacks your opponent decides what else attacks in addition to a debuff?

FAMOUSWATERMELON, but that's the point. He gets one good attack in and then everyone dies

May 15, 2015 12:28 a.m.

T4 People are going to have a good board advantage, so it's going to take more than 6 attacking damage to win...

I am pleased, now.

Unblocked he deals 11 damage by turn five, better than Goblin Guide, but he kills any board state you have. I see him as an aggro player's response to Anger of the Gods, Drown in Sorrow, etc. or later in the game a strong comeback from Wrath of God and the like. Not gonna help you win more, but could be a guy that can help you come back.

And to be honest....Leeroy Jenkins probably shouldn't do much more than get your team wrecked :P
