I have always been a fan of tribal decks and you would be able to tell by looking at my decks.

I have always felt there was not much support for Illusions outside of Lord of the Unreal .

So I had a thought and asking for advice...

Illusionist's Apprentice

Creature - Human Wizard

Mana cost: U

1/1

Search deck for Illusion creature spell and put into hard. Shuffle library.

If thats a creature, shouldn't it say "when ~ enters the battlefield (you may) search your deck for an illusion creature and put it into your hand, Then shuffle your library.

If your looking for illusion tribal, try mix the blue illusion creatures, such as Phantasmal Image and Phantasmal Bear (which have the abilities to sac them) with, with black graveyard revival such as Cadaver Imp. Alternatively, you could play an illusion control deck. Because illusions are cheap creatures that can easily be removed, they are very strong, such as Phantasmal Bear, which is 1 mana for a 2/2. If you have a decent amount of counterspells, using cards such as Decree of Silence, Jace, Unraveler of Secrets or a simple Negate. This was you can protect your powerful creatures and annoy your opponent. Hope I was helpful

That was very helpful with the text to be changed.

I have a competitive deck already but I was looking to spruce it up some with other support because there is such a lack of lords for illusions.

In general, 1-drop tutors tend not to be creatures. Having a body costs more.

I have been looking at harbinger cards particularly with treefolk and elemental which has you put the selected on top of library after reveal. So I would continue along those lines but with Illusions.

Flamekin Harbinger

Treefolk Harbinger

I agree it should probably be a harbinger. You could also make it an illusion itself (something like reoccurring image) and give it the same on target sac effect. If you make it both an illusion and the harbinger style of putting the car on top you have a slightly weaker card than the flame kin version which means you have a little bit of play to give it something else. Say make it a 1/2 or something.

aholder7 I like your name for it and I have come up with another support creature.

I will be getting on MagicSetEditer later to create the card after I get the image done.

Here is what I have finally put together--

Reoccurring Image Creature -- IllusionPower/Toughness -- 1/2Text: When Reoccurring Image enters the battlefield, you may search your library for an Illusion card, reveal it, then shuffle your library and put that card on top of it.

When Reoccurring Image becomes the target of a spell or ability, sacrifice it.

I also came up with this additional card idea, which I would love to see in actual print.

Illusionist's Familiar Creature -- IllusionPower/Toughness -- 1/2Text: Flying

Illusion spells you play cost less to play.

When Illusionit's Familiar becomes the target of a spell or ability, sacrifice it.
