Glen, the Morph Mage (3)(U)(U)

Planeswlaker - Glen

(+1) Target face-down creature gets +1/+1 for each other face-down creature you control.

(-1) Turn target face-down creature with morph face-up, or turn target face-up creature with morph face-down.

(-7) You get an emblem with "Face-down creatures you control get +1/+1 and Hexproof."

Morph (3)(U)

Starts with (3)

One thing, planeswalkers with Morph won't work because the planeswalker gets their loyalty abilities from a "As ~ enters the battlefield" effect. It's in the Comprehensive Rules somewhere, so you'd also need an ability that says "As ~ is turned face up, put 3 loyalty counters on ~." But then you're looking at 5 abilities and the art box would be tiny. I'd much rather have Glen be just the regular PW without the Morph ability.

Well I did not know this and I cant seem to edit the post so the morph ability is now irrelevant for future discussion as it doesn't work that well.

I dunno about the first ability. Is that permanently +1/+1?

No it's until end of turn but I forgot to add that before I posted it.

I like idea of a morph planeswalker. I would make some changes though (feel free to ignore all of them, I know near nothing about balance, flavor, or any of that).

Sorry in advance for the long post.

First, Glen seems green to me. You've got pumps, which are very green, and morph is a very green mechanic (Trail of Mystery and what have you). I would make Glen either G pr G.

The first ability seems underpowered and overpowered at the same time. The way the ability is written, the +1 fizzles without a boardstate (which isn't good when it's the only non-negative ability on the guy). I would change "target face-down creature" to "up to one target face-down creature" (see Ajani Steadfast or Ajani, Caller of the Pride as examples of this). This way, you can still use the ability if there are no face-down creature on your board, and at least buff Glen. Also, as Charles mentioned, the permanent boost seems kinda clunky and OP, I would throw on an "until end of turn" clause on there.

The second ability is too good for its cost. Flipping a Hooded Hydra or Abomination of Gudul for only -1 is powerful. I would make this a -2.

The ult seems underpowered as well. It would take 5 turns to get a boost to creatures that you probably want to flip up. I would first increase Glen's loyalty to 4, making it a bit faster, and giving more protection for the 5-drop cost. Then I would boost the +1/+1 and hexproof to either +3/+3 and hexproof or (especially if Glen was green) +2/+2, hexproof, and trample. This gives more incentive to keep your morphs down, making the emblem better.

Again, just my thoughts, but it's worth just throwing some new ideas out there, I guess.

The first ability should be

"Up to one target face-down creatures ..."

This way, you can use it without any face-down cretures on teh field.

Well I would add those changes but I don't know how to edit (if I can) the post. For the most part I feel you guys are right. I might get a image for this card sometime with said changes.

+1 needs until end of turn as said

second ability should be -2

ultimate should be better, maybe like Ixidron's trigger

as for the morph thing just add when ~ is turned face up put 3 loyalty counters on it.
